Default Red paddle shifters swap out

So I was at a Chevy dealer today getting my work car serviced and of course I went into the show room to see the vettes. Once they found out I already had one, it was like I was a zika virus carrier and invisible, its cool cause got to look the car over w/o someone hounding me.

The 2017 corvette (3LT Z51) had red paddle shifters (very hot) and the two tone red seats like my '16, so I asked the parts guy and they are $111 each paddle shifter plus installation (guessing $200). A pricey upgrade for a trinket, but I was wondering if anyone has done that or looked into the compatibility, hopefully 16-17 are the same. They gave me two parts number and asked for my VIN to determine the right ones.

Here is the pic:

It looks like a pretty easy diy swap if you go that route.

I only took a pic from that angle and mostly to send to a friend, only after I got home did I think about posting it on here. It does look awesome from the seated position though.

Ridiculous price hell a whole new wheel is around 350. Repacing them is easy. Do a search

I did mine. I think I paid roughly $150 for mine from trunk monkey.

Its an easy job. Maybe 30 minutes and thats on the high side. Great upgrade. 2016 Torch Red.

I'm installing red seat belts now and thats a different story lol. I have the trim pieces out, just waiting on the belts. Im past the hard part though....I think.

Very easy to swap out. I, too, bought them from Trunk Monkey for $150 total.

I wanted to do this too once I saw them. But I don't understand why GM did not do the audio control paddles too?

Then I was going to do the red rattle can paint method as posted on another fine recent thread.

But then I was at the NCRS Winter Meet and of course one of our Forum Vendors was there so I inquired about this. So I walked off with these once he showed them to me.

^^^ That CF on your sterring wheel looks nice. I would like to add some CF to mine but I really dont want to put anymore money into the OEM wheel since I really dont like it that much. I wish GM had gone with a thicker steering wheel but I cant justify the prices of the aftermarket wheels either. Prefer to invest in an X pipe and new wheels/tires.

.

I did mine too. Nice tweak. If you decide to do this, there are some good photos in this forum that help.

That turned out nice. Did you use plasti-dip, or regular rattle can paint?

Get new paddles from S2T.
Leave them as they come or have them powdercoated.

Much better feel over the tiny stock paddles.

I agree! And a very simple DIY. I swapped my paddles after I swapped my steering wheel to the D-suede.

I just bought Dayton Yellow Plasti Dip in a rattle can for a little DIY. I have no idea if it will look like velocity yellow enough to complement it.

Update: In my opinion this is too lemony and the rattle can nozzle is too spotty to get near my interior.
