Suede interior wear?
Wondering if any of you who bought your C7 with the suede interior (seats, steering wheel, etc) have had any fading or excessive wear issues. Thanks, Nick.

At over 60,000 miles, I have noticed wear (more like matting) on the trim portions (center console and both arm rests) where body parts press against them. I'm not sure what these are made from. There is virtually no wear on the MF inserts. These are Alcantara or equivalent.
They are two different materials.
I would like to find out if anyone has an efficient way to clean the trim w/o water marks left over. Cleaning the seat inserts is easy, and I've never had water marks ever happen.
I do have some fading on the charcoal/ebony "suede" trim on the back side of the sun visors.
I can say that if the trim was made from the same fabric as the seat inserts, I'd be a happy camper, because it would still look new like my seats do.

Had my Z Vert. since February of 2016, 10 k miles on car suede seats show no sign of wear still looks great. If I had it to do over, I would have gotten full leather seats, suede is hotter in summer than leather, suede seat inserts hold heat and seat ventilation helps cool then very little.

FWIW, I did not have any wear showing on any interior surfaces until after about 40,000 miles. My seats still look amazing. It i just the "suede" trim that has issues.

My suggestion for the re freshening of the Alcantera trim area's including the steering and center console which are the most prone to dirt is to use steam. I do this all the time at my shop, plenty of C7's come thru along many European sports cars......seems like real suede is a thing of the past and this high tech Alcantera which is a micro fiber material is now the go to.
Avoid the use of chemicals and aggressive brushes that can destroy the nap and or possibly discolor the fabric. I choose to use my VX5000 steamer or a similar one is fine along with a push Micro Fiber towel to wipe the fabric as I steam with deionized water. This process will clean the Alcantera of dirt, grime without chemicals and will fluff and restore the look and finish.
