Default Share your Road Trip route with pictures

One of the greatest experiences in life is a road trip in your Corvette. My service tech in Carlsbad, California told me he was so happy to see my gorgeous Corvette on the road, being driven.

Share your road trip with us. Supply the essential data: year, model and type; transmission, date, trip route, miles completed, tips on good and bad roads, maintenance issues, weather, stunning pictures. Add a unique story to pique our interest.

My trips in C7 Z51 M7 Coupe.
March 2015 Alexandria, Virginia to San Diego, California: US 1, US 15 & 29 to Danville, VA; US 158 I40 to Asheville, NC; I40 to Memphis; US 79 and US 82 to Texarkana; I30 & US 381 to Decatur, TX; US 287 to Amarillo; I40 to Flagstaff; AZ64 to Grand Canyon; AZ66 and US 93 to Hoover Dam; US 95 & CA78 to Carlsbad, CA.

3,500 miles

Highlights: Texas US highways are excellent condition for high-speed motoring. US 95 along the Colorado River is scenic with many stops. CA 78 is an exciting mountain touring road.

Avoid Arkansas US highways.

No repairs needed. Icy conditions in Great Smoky Mountains, NC

June 2015, My wife and I did a nice 7 day road trip, 2645 miles.

Houston -- > Memphis -- > Bowling Green --> Deals Gap, NC -- > ATL Georgia --> Panama City, FL --> New Orleans --> Home

On the Dragon:

Coming in too hot...late on the brakes.. Lol

Our lodge at Deals Gap right on the Dragon.

Look out point, about 8 miles into the Dragon, I saw a load of Mustangs and figured I'd raid there party... They were all real cool and everyone wanted to see the car...They were shocked we drove it from Texas and railing it on the Dragon..

A couple more pics from a different photographer. Stuffing it in a corner hard!

IRS doin work.
Heading towards Alabama

Then stuff starting to get bad....

Once we made it through the bad weather, we started catching some bad traffic...and getting low on fuel. Road work and closings for 25 miles to Mobile Alabama...

Finally we make it to Louisiana

New Orleans...

French Quarter..

Bourbon st

Then after a 6 hr jaunt this morning, back to good ole Texas..

Last August my wife and I took about a 2000 mile road trip from NY to Ohio then to Bowling Green where we visited the factory and Museum. From there we went to Nashville where we met my son who drove up from Florida to spend a couple of days with us, then we went to The Tail of the Dragon. We spent two dam in Fontana Dam and drove the Tail like four times this is a must do for anyone who will ever be in the area! The next day we drove through the Blue Ridge mountains and spent a night in VA then headed home the next day a total of 8 days on the road and usually about 4 hours the most was 8 hours of driving each day.
Over looking the Blue Ridge mountains

I have a ton of pictures most are of the cars in the museum. For the record it was our visit to Bowling Green that led to us buying out C7 Grand Sport a few weeks ago. We were at the factory about two weeks after they started production of the Grand Sports I hadn't seen one until we saw them on the factory line. When we got to the Museum they had my car on the floor waiting for a delivery and we fell in love that exact color combo with the same striping as I bought heck I waited to buy the car on the floor and would have if I could have!

There's nothing like a road trip in a Corvette. Our last trip (first in our base C7 A8) was from home on to Bowling Green for a tour. We left Bowling Green for St. Louis to pick up Route 66, then westward to Tucumcari, NM. Then the trip home for a total of 5670 miles, and luckily it only rained one day.

Sadly I didn't know the dang date setting was on which takes away from the pictures. That has been rectified.

C7 Museum Delivery and trip home:

Museum Delivery the day after the sinkhole. Drove the entire length of the Natchez Trace Parkway (444 miles from a little south of Nashville, TN to Natchez, MS). From there, U.S./state highways across Louisiana and Texas to the Dallas area. Absolutely no Interstate miles. Wife and I both love to travel the backroads.

Backroads is where the beauty past, and present resides. There's no other way to travel if you have the time.

Bought a new Z06 in Western Nebraska. Broke it in one short trip.

Started out in Morrill Nebraska. Drove Hiway 2 from Alliance Nebraska to Nebraska National Forest and back. Great drive . I was the only one out there except for the Coal Trains which I get to operate when I am not enjoying my 2016 Z06. Drove home pulled it into my barn with 565 miles on the clock and changed the oil.

Thanks to everyone who has posted the great pictures!!
My plan for a road trip: (still in the planning unfortunately, due to time and work - but I WILL make it happen LOL)
May sound unusual to some, but my most favorite thing to do next to driving my Corvette is playing Video Keno at the casino. (My avatar "KENOWNR")
My road trip will be from Detroit to Las Vegas via Interstate northern route hitting as many casino's on the road or close off the road as I can. Spend a few bucks, play a bit; if I win a little hang out, if I loose my small budget for each stop, move on. Take the southern route back with same itinerary; stop, play a bit, move on. Total miles Google Map, about 6000. Cost? Probably more than I want to think about LOL. Corvette seat time? Probably more than I want to think about, but worth every mile. I figure; I'll probably go alone, (I'm single) don't drink, don't hit the bars, don't chase women (very often LOL) and I always try to live like "It ain't a dress rehearsal"
