Pic heavy Delivery post 1/21/17 throwback pics from Mike Furman at Criswell**********
~~There will always be rumors surrounding the Corvette Plant, production and future product. I try to distance myself from digging for information, of course morsels of info comes my way but trust me...if GM wants you to know something they will leak it. GM holds Corvette info tight to the vest. I attend the Corvette Bash in late April to learn from Harlan and his co workers what is new for the upcoming model year. Seeing it is believing it.
~I wish I had a total count of how many Corvette Museum Deliveries that I have set up thru the R8C Museum Delivery program. The cost of this option is so well worth it. I get calls/emails from my customers after they arrive back home and you can hear the genuine excitement still in their voice. This July 26th marks my 40th year selling Corvettes and as I near 4,000 delivered...I still enjoy each and every Corvette delivery. I have owned 18 Corvettes but have yet to pick one up at the Museum...maybe the next one!
~Joe R. from Kathleen, GA called me 7 weeks ago to Factory Order his dream Corvette, 2017 Z06. Long Beach Red with Dark Gray interior and loaded! 7spd manual trans, CF hood inset, CF exposed weave roof, Chrome wheels, Z07, 3LZ Pkg and so much more. Next week he will complete the Museum Delivery! Thanks to my KY friend Adam E. for taking some pics on the Museum floor. Joe was really appreciative to get them.
~Pedro M. from Olney, MD was referred in to me by our Commercial Parts distributor. Pedro called me this past Monday and came by to view our inventory. Pedro landed on a Watkins Glen Gray Z06 Cpe with Adrenaline Red interior and 7spd manual trans. Stunning color combo!
~Local businessman picked up this Grand Sport in Admiral Blue with White stripe, Black interior and red seat belts...great looking combo!
~Jay P. stopped by so I could install his license plates. He is thrilled with his Silver/Red Grand Sport.
~Billy K. from Rockville Centre, NY had his very special Callaway C6 GS chosen to be on display at the Corvette Museum as part of the 30th Anniversary of Callaway. Callaway has a big display until early May inside the Museum. I am looking forward to seeing it in late April. I first met Reeves Callaway in the 1986 time frame and of course Chris Chessnoe does a great job for Callaway as the National Sales Director. Callaway will have another big display at Carlisle late August.
~This coming Friday I will be at the Wash, DC Auto Show from 11am-2pm as GM has asked me to attend but wouldn't tell me where I finished up in the Top 5 for sales. Let's see what happens.
~Throwback pics and old Corvette ads...some of these pics you can just barely see an old Corvette. Make a post and tell me which picture you like the best.
*I believe the new paint facility that opens up in the Fall will be much better than the St Louis paint facility back in early 1978 for this Indy Pace Car.

Like the dealership shot with the red and white Corvette in the background and what I think is a Ford Model A off to the side. Maybe 30 years between them at the time, seems like a lifetime ago now. I guess it is!!
Another great week Mike.

Great shots as always, Mike. 4000 Corvette sales is incredible. Someday you will deservedly get your picture on the dome of the National Corvette Museum.

The ad for the 1965 Corvette model. I had that model they made them in Rally Red & Nassau Blue. I had the blue one!!!
Also like the 2014 Corvette on the wall at the New York Auto Show. When I walked into the Javits Center that was the first time I saw a C7 in person up on the wall. They also had inside a gray coupe and a blue convertible!!!

pics and stories. Just curious - what percentage of your sales of new Corvettes has the GS been? Seems like the GS has been very popular.

Great pictures, as always and we really appreciate you taking time to put this together each week.
I believe the Altman Chevrolet picture is a Chevrolet dealer in Sarasota, FL that is now called "Sunset Chevrolet". Sunset is still operating from the same location as Altman.

Mike you should definitely make your next vette purchase a museum delivery. I am sure many of us who have not yet been fortunate enough to vist the museum yet would schedule the trip for that time and we would have our own Bash! lol
thanks for the "weekly's"
(Just make sure Delivery is in the spring time )

Mike,
Thank you for the mention. The Callaway Corvette Display at the NCM through the 5th of May is unreal and must be seen!!
Here's a link with more info:

Check it out, and thanks again.

What a great way to start my Sunday.......firing up the laptop and logging onto the Corvette Forum. Of course, your weekly photo collages are the first thing I seek.
Can't wait until MY C7 is in there!!

Furman had to have jumped through some serious logistical hoops to facilitate that C6 Callaway build for Billy...... owner engine build in Detroit, final production run for year end/generation end C6, Callaway conversion in CT, then a NCM delivery!

I Remember Billy giving me a call, talking about the let downs he had from other dealers, and sending him to talk to Mike Furman
Not only was Mike able to deliver, but he was able to deliver on everything that Billy wanted. It made for a great delivery, which I personally attended, handing Billy the keys to his new Callaway at the national Corvette Museum. There's a great way to close the chapter on C6, and then to go on a display the vehicle at the NCM Bash, was icing on the cake.
It was a great example of the teamwork that Mike and I have shared over the past decade.
