Do I need a new Corvette ??

I like my C7 just the way it is and can't imagine what I would change if I bought another. Waiting for the C8, and then maybe. It's got to be a significantly different and better car for me to pull the trigger.

Wait and buy a ZR1. I've got a Z06 already and I'm on a local list of allocations for one of those if/when the announcement comes out. If it's a significant enough departure from the current offering, then I'll pull the trigger and keep both. If it's not, I'll wait for the next gen before buying a new one.

If money is really not an issue, then buy one. Why not?
I love Corvettes but if money was not an issue for me, I would be driving an Aston Martin Vantage V12 that comes with a manual trans.

I am in the same situatuon, ordered my 2015 Vert exactly as I wanted it, fantastic car in all ways. Looking for a possible change but waiting for a real change the 2017 really offers nothing significant. So I will wait and see what 2018 offers.

I purchased a 2014 Stingray Convertible in April 2014 with the idea that I would be acquiring a 2017. This fall I ordered a 2017 Stingray Convertible equipped exactly like the 2014, except for the updates (front camera, PDR etc.) and new color, Admiral Blue. Took delivery early December and due to the weather only have 250 miles on the clock to date. I got a great deal and reset the warranty back to three years. I like the sleek lines of the Stingray so didn't purchase a Grand Sport.

This post got me thinking too. I have a '14 vert that I really like but I keep looking at new ones too. But to sell/trade it to get something new would be probably $20K and I really think it isn't worth spending that kind of money just chasing a car with little improvement over what I have.
When I traded the '11 GS vert for the '14 Stingray I was very happy with the upgrades and improvements. To do that now, for me wouldn't make a lot of sense and waiting for the C8 or maybe going to a C7 GS would be better. But even the GS is more window dressing for me since I wouldn't track the car. It would be more about just having the latest and greatest.
My 2 cents worth.... I vote for you to keep what you have.

You should wait for the 2018's and find out more about the ZR1.

Even if money is no object why update if what you have now is working just fine for how you like to drive? Just like computer operating systems. Why update if you can do what you need to do?

Sounds like you'd be throwing money away imo. If you want to spend on a new corvette get a z06. At least it'll be an upgrade in every way. The power will keep you smiling for a long long time.

Money is always an issue for me... When I go to restaurant and the waiter tells me the specials, I always ask, and how much is that special??? It's like they think money is no object. LOL!
With money always being a consideration, I'm glad I waited 10 years to go from my '07 to '17 GS. All along the way I could have jumped from LS2 to LS3, Base to GS, 13 anniversary 427, C7 Launch... I passed up 4 major releases that intrigued me. I'm glad I did or I wouldn't have what is going to be a rare SBM '17 GS...

In 2015 I had a nicely equipped vert stingray built exactly like I wanted and I really like it, now 3 years later (9K miles) I look at the 2017 and ask myself would I like a new one. money is not the issue, just would like a new one but really dont see a whole lot of difference. One of those things where you just think a new one is better. I am leaning toward keeping the 2015 but would like an opinion from the experts. Is a 2017 going to make me enjoy the car that much better ??? I am really struggling with this. Thanks for your comments

BTW, I once read a study that said people with a new car tended to be over the moon about them--for about three weeks. After that it was just a car.
If you really want to buy something new, get new wheels or a new spoiler, or put a stinger stripe on it. You'll get most of the thrill of a new car for almost nothing.
