New to C7... questions
New to the forums but not new to vets. My last was a C5 and I'm about to sell my 15 Mustang GT.
When did the Corvette go to the 6.2 with fuel management?
Is it eliminated with a manual trans? I see on here that some owners are already getting the torque converters changed !
I have the 5.3 with AFM in my Silverado ( and my last Silverado ) and I really don't like it. Trans always bangs around in the 30 MPH range. I have the Range programmer to minimize it.
Thanks

Not entirely sure what you mean. The 6.2 LT1 was new to the C7. It has direct injection, and my car has the M7. If you are speaking to the skip shift feature, it does exist in the manual cars; some have purchased overrides for it, but I have found that just shift from 1-2 at a speed over 25 or keep the revs up and you'll never have to use the skip shift feature.

Active Fuel Management with a manual is only available when the mode selector is in Economy mode. (as far as I know). Leave it in touring, sport or track and never have to deal with it.

The Auto Fuel Management is what I was referring to. The engine drops down from 8 cylinders to 4 cylinders to save fuel. I've been reading on here that it is in the Corvette.
So, by changing a setting, it will stay in V-8 mode ?
Can this be done with an automatic car as well ?

On a manual you will never see it unless you set the driving mode to it. On an automatic it comes on even in track mode unless you use paddle shifting exclusively, or have the same Range programmer as on your truck.

I have had my C7 for about 6 weeks and love it. I have a 2LT stingray, non Z51 manual. I just went over 500 miles a few days ago and was excited to experience over 3500 rpms, OMG. I had a neighbor with h me, rolling along in first about 5 mph, rolled in the throttle and the back end got loose, shifted into second again got another wiggle of the hips. As I've heard on another video, the front end rises up and it feels like you are riding a wild animal

I will assume parameters havent changed much so...on my 14 M7, V4 kicks in when all 4 conditions are met:
1. Driving mode is set to E
2. Gear is 3rd or higher
3. Speed is 35 or higher, and
4. Speed is constant for about 15 seconds or so
V8 comes back when you either:
1. Touch the brake
2. Touch the clutch
3. Give it more than about 10% throttle
