Advice on 2016 C7 (New)
Looking for some opinions on a 2016 C7 Z51 3LT. Vette is loaded, MSRP ~$83000, price cut to $65000. This has been at dealer since 12/15. I have found 3-4 2016's that I am interested in and most are loaded with options and have been sitting for 12-14 months at the dealers showroom.
Other than the obvious potential problems from sitting for a year+ (swirls in clear coat and discharged battery) is there anything else I should be aware of before I make an offer?
Thanks for any feedback, I am looking to replace a 2013 Grand Sport 3LT

That is a very good price for a "fully-loaded" 3LT Z51 w/ full new car warranty, and judging from the MSRP, it is fully loaded.
Just check to make sure, the car has not been "punched." What I mean by that is that some dealer demos are listed as "sold" with a manufacturer, and the warranty clock starts ticking at that point. Such cars have never even been registered, so they appear new. Sometimes dealers will do that to a few cars here and there to hit their sales quotas, and get a bonus check from a manufacturer.

Is it an A8? When I was looking, I was advised by another board member that there were problems with the A8 in vehicles manufactured prior to Jan 2016 (then they fixed it), so to look for A8s manf after 1/16. When you said that the vehicle has been sitting there since 12/15, that thought came to mind.
Please guys, don't bite my head off if this is wrong! LOL!! Just passing along what someone told me when I was looking!
Best of luck to the OP with your purcchase!

^^^Turns out that it is not as cut and dry as what the other board member suggested to you. It was the best info that we had at the time, but it appears that even some of the 2017 cars are having torque converter issues and there's a new torque converter part number out there that's being used to replace failed 2017 and older cars. With that said, if you're set on an auto, i wouldn't let that hold me back. Many have had no issues with their auto so there's really no rhyme or reason at this point.

Bought my Z51 3LT A8 last August...sticker was $79K and I got it for $61K. Had 17 miles on it.
I was prepared to pay that much for a 2LT and that's why I jumped all over this one. Best car I've ever had and I've had a few. Mine has a build date of 1/16 and the transmission has been flawless.

In December I saw a fully loaded Z 3LZ msrp at $100,000. Selling for $79,000. So the going deals for December on a bunch of showroom leftovers was 20%. It's definitely a good deal but doesn't hurt to try to push the envelope a little more. They definitely want to get rid of it and the worst they say is no we can't go anymore but maybe we can throw in something else for you?

So, that's like 22% off?
It depends on how long you plan to keep the car. If forever, then it's not a bad deal. If you may trade it in on the C8 (or a porsche, or whatever) then that extra year (versus buying a 2017) will come back to haunt you.
You can get 15% off (or thereabouts) on a new 2017, so is that additional discount worth it to you? If you ordered a car, would it be EXACTLY like this one, or would you maybe get a different color, save on some options?

This would have almost certainly been a "Bonus Tag" car. Bonus Tag eligibility was limited to a very small number of cars in dealer inventory. I can assure you that 20% discounts weren't the norm and they shouldn't be the standard against which current deals are compared.
