I never had a problem with the 1 to 2 shift from day 1 regardless if it is warmed up or not.

I, like many others with a M7, have the "slow synchro" shift problem. It's worse when cold, comes and goes when warm. It's never a grind, just a resistance with a few last rotations against the gear. The gearshift "rumbles" as the gears slow and sync. It's not a big deal, but:
1. I would imagine after 50k miles the "rumble" might eventually grind off enough gear for something to happen.
2. I was just at Ron Fellows and the M7 I was given was like glass as far as shifting.
Oh, and somewhere I heard a dealer told the client that he was "shifting too fast" and that was causing it. I think my explosion of laughter would tell them otherwise.
