Glad you are okay, Mike Criswell, and that you were NOT in the C2 when that mishap occurred.

Thanks for the info about Kirby and the Corvette Club of Richmond. I will have to get to know some of those people.

For your collection if you so choose-a picture of Zora at a Malcolm Konner's show in 1994 who happens to be looking at the engine bay of my 1968 all original big block. I asked him what do you think and he said "nice".

Wow!! Very cool. That is Gary Konner to the right and his Mother Florence Konner in the middle! Please forward any more you have like this and I will share them with Gary.

Glad you are OK. I for one believe texting is a much greater danger to all of us than DUI since far more people are Texting While Driving (TWD) than DUI.

If you know Corvettes you know the name Mike Furman. In many eyes you are the Corvette Ambassador.

BTW, am a BIG 1978 Corvette Indy 500 Pace Car Fan. Almost bought one on two different occasions. First time I ultimately decided to buy our beach house instead. Then the bug it me again but decided to place a factory order for a C7.

I really like the Silver leather interior of the 78 Pace Car! Maybe someday when I have a bigger garage I will be able to get a 4spd version.

Around the county or around the country? If country, this guy did the lower 48 with his 66 Vert back in 2010. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=2650649. I'm somewhere in the 99 pages.

Glad to hear you're ok and that it did not happen while you were in one of the Corvettes!

Did you really need to quote his original post? it's only the longest post in the history of C7 gen lol

Very stealthy late night delivery pics.

I had an uh-oh moment when you said that you were rear ended. First, was glad that you were not injured...... and secondly, glad that you were not driving your new frame off restoration '67.

Yup, be safe...... drive safe.

Default Criswell Auto Body

Now time for you to let the newly constructed Criswell Chevrolet paint shop do their magic on the rear end of your 2015 Impala.

Come to think of it, maybe the driver who hit you was merely distracted by the fact that Furman was driving an Impala...... and not a Corvette! He had to do a double take.

Read through your thread once again just now, and you had quite a potpourri of deliveries and their new owners last week.

Sorry to hear about that accident Mike, but glad to know you're OK. Rear-enders and injuries caused by them are much more common than many people realize--good thing you saw it coming

Mike, very happy to hear you are OK.. whiplash is a nasty injury, some say don't brace, some do.. who knows...

thanks for not leaving us high and dry this week and we all would have understood.

Great post as always and the pressure to pick the "favorite" getting tougher each week now lol..

I'll go with the several sw coupes in line with other C2's as it really shows you the differences in that one simple change.. night and day.. and imho the only reason we all "fawn" over the swc is the one year run!! because the non split windows are a heck of alot better looking

PS. my defensive driver safety tips of the day..

1. always leave wheels straight when waiting to turn as if you get hit, are about to be hit or just plain need to move fast, you'll need that .5 second back!!

2. always leave enough room in front of you when stopped to be able to jump out of the way from an out of control driver.

if you can see the rubber of the rear tires from under the car in front of you, that's perfect..if not? you're too close.

this also helps to stop you from starting a chain reaction, hitting the guy in front of you..

having said that, i don't always do these things myself, but try to live by them when possible and teach them to anyone who doesn't know, especially the young ones..
Good advice re getting ready for an accident which is never planned nor "announced," in advance. I, like you, know some of the right things to do but don't always do them. It reinforces it to see it in writing---that's called a "public service." Thanks.
