I don't think it looks so much better without the plate to be worth the small risk. I now have vanity plates, so don't mind having it it on, anyway.

A large proportion of drivers run no front tag and tint here so it's at the officer's discretion - it's a target-rich environment so the revenue stream is constant and convenient whenever the need arises or a reason to pull a car over is needed. Gotta' pay to play.

You can't look at this picture and tell me silver isn't the best color. Nice touch on the black mirrors.
A LEO can always find a reason to pull you over. No plate is an excuse but if you have one, they will find something else. It might be to check out the ride!!

Never had a problem in California for no front plate. However while on vacation I did get pulled over in Texas and Idaho for no front plate and received verbal warnings each time.

A friend is in a state requiring a front plate, has it mounted on a bracket that puts it at the bottom of the grille, lower than either stock bracket. It looks fine, and it's one less thing to worry about. Last time I tried, I couldn't see it from the driver's seat.

I can second that, my pickup was cited in a parking lot at a boat launch facility in that area. The person citing had to go out of their way to be able to observe my and many other vehicles, so this was a concerted effort to cite, no just a random incident.

Oh, it could be worse. Michigan does not require a front plate, and another friend of mine spending time in (I think it was) Texas, told me he got a ticket for not having a front plate. The LEO apparently couldn't understand his explanation that a front plate wasn't required in Michigan and so the ticket wasn't valid. (See "full faith and credit" clause of the U.S. Constitution.)

Of course, the court invalidated the ticket and the magistrate apparently had some choice things to say about the officer.

I believe that the only way to get a front plate in Michigan is to buy a vanity plate and then pay extra for the second plate.

On my 4th vette in Cali without front plates on any of 'em. Never received any kind of hassle at all from any type of enforcement officer (for this issue, lol).

We live in Orange County and have owned many Corvettes and other cars since 1984 where a license plate sticks out like a redneck smiling with one front tooth. I've been ticketed for speeding once or twice and even then they never wrote up the missing front plate. A friend told me the parking structure police at LAX gave them a ticket for it while they were away on a trip.

Years ago with an 87 Vette I got a parking ticket in Coronado with another fine for no front plate. Since then I haven't had any tickets for no front plate.

I've had four 'vettes with no front plate here in Kali. Only time I ever got pulled over for no front plate, was while driving through Joshua Tree NP. Park police pulled me over. His excuse was that people had been getting front plates stolen. Wouldn't let me out of the car and wanted to check my hatch area?! No ticket, but it was unusual.

I run a front license plate, but got the 1960s legacy plates that are black, so it isn't as bad as the standard white and blue. Like others have mentioned, I don't want any more reason to be pulled over. In addition, since it is my daily driver, I don't want to worry about a meter maid, which is where most citations will come from.

Did you let him? Probable cause?

I live in OC, going on 6 years, never had a front plate, never pulled over for it. I've been pulled over 2X for speeding, cited once, and they never mentioned the front plates. The citation was a CHP using LIDAR aimed at the front of the car.

Get a removable plate and only put it on if you are cited. Then you'd go to a CHP office so they could stamp your ticket with proof of correction, and then you take the plate off again. Easy peasy.

The greatest help to Vette owners is the huge number of Teslas in California. Have you ever seen a Tesla with a front plate. Can you even imagine how a Tesla would mount a plate on that bubble of plastic it has up front?

There's a vendor on this forum that sells a front license plate kit that folds up and disappears under the front of a C7. I think it has a remote control button.
