Any RUMORS that a 10 speed Automatic will be in the 2018 C7 Stingray and Grand Sport?

I doubt it. Talked with Tadge about this last year, who again has lied to us in the past. I was thinking ok what if they change the lengths of certain shafts/move it around a smidge and the way he explained it to me, the A10 just will not fit the C7 Platform.
IIRC-He said the biggest reason why is due to where it has to mount up to everything, the output shafts would be off by a couple inches and there's just no way around that

I didn't expect an A10 in the 2018 model. However, many here, myself included, expect the ZR1 to be announced in January as a 2019 model. Will that model have the A10? Despite Tadge's comment that the A10 would not be in a C7, it would not surprise me if the A10 Corvette debut is sooner rather than later. We'll see.

And if it would have fit in any C7, given all the A8’s that have had problems, do we not think that GM would have loved to put the A10 into the 2018’s? Dreaming if we think it will be part of the 2019 ZR1.

Give me back my 6-speed... Both of my '14s were flawless. I picked up a '16 last week and the ******* thing sucks! Feels like I'm in a old Ferrari with a jerky gear box. I'll still drive the crap out of it since I have warranty until 2021. What a piece of **** transmission.

I wish GM followed the A10 and manual 6 transmission way like on the Camaro ZL1, there are no complains mentioned on the 6th. Gen Camaro forums, just praises about both of them. Al Oppenheiser of the Camaro designer team hit the sweet spot.

There were rumors that a new A6 was going into the Corvette....and it happened.
There were rumors that a new A8 was going into the Corvette....and it happened.
There are rumors that a new A10 is going into the Corvette....wait and see if it happens.
Personally, I like the rumor that a DCT is going into the Corvette......

But the A8 doesn't hunt, and the LT4 has enough torque that it doesn't need to.

I've seen far more rumors here that turned out to be false, than true.

The stories we are hearing say the 2019 C7 will be virtually identical to the 2018. Since there may be only a couple more years of C7 production after that, I don't think GM will spend the time and money to adapt the A10 to a car with a limited production future.

What is a major change?
Was the A6 replacing the A4 during the C6 generation a "major" change that was held up to the next generation(C7)?
Was the A8 replacing the A6 during the C7 generation a "major" change that was held up to the next generation(C8)?
Was the LS3 replacing the LS2 during the C6 generation a "major" change that was held up to the next generation(C7)?
GM has made changes in both engines and transmissions and did not call them "major" changes that required waiting for the next generation to implement.
What GM has been consistent about, is not making changes during a model year, that could be called significant.
So, in my opinion, if they are going to change transmissions, they might hurry up the model year change over so they can implement the change without it being in the middle of a model year.
I'm not saying that the 2019 is going to have a A10, but it's a possibility. With almost 10,000 2016, 2017 and 2018's clogging up the dealer's showrooms, and another three months of 2018 production scheduled before the January 29, 2018 startup of the 2019's, I really doubt that GM is going to say tomorrow morning that "The 2019 corvette will have a 10 speed automatic" or say that "The 2019 Corvette is going to have a DCT", etc, if it were not a rumor.

Anything is possible.
My bet is that the C7 automatic will remain an A8 for the remainder of the run (2020 or thereabouts).
The odds for a different C7 tranny would increase considerably if a mid-engine C8 goes into production and GM decides to keep the C7 in production alongside of it for several years.
Post back in 2020 and we'll have a better idea...

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought it was posted that there were "no major changes" in the 2019. First I've heard that the 2019 will be "virtually identical" to the 2018.

I guess we will know when the order guide goes live in a few weeks.
