Default New Delivery pics and tons of yesteryear Corvette pics 3/12/17-Mike Furman @Criswell

~So today we Spring, move the clocks Forward one hour and this past Thursday it was 74 degrees in Maryland and yet in 48 hours there is a possibility of SNOW accumulation! Crazy weather this Winter but the Corvette World waits for no one. Corvettes get bought both new and used and shipped Nationwide. I have posted some really interesting Corvette video's on my CorvetteFurman Facebook page. October 2nd/3rd is when I am scheduling my trip to Spring Mountain Race Track in Pahrump, Nevada with my fellow Corvette customers for Corvette driving school. Last year was a blast so Melinda and Donna just opened up those dates for the next 30-40 days. 20 people in a class and it is already half filled. Come one come all.

~ I met with a group of young men from The Avalon School. They had asked to go on a Field Trip to see the new Corvettes at Criswell so I received a call from a parent about setting this up. I had goodie bags and a box lunch set up. Much was learned by all! I remember going on Field Trips as a kid...just never to see a World Class Sports car!!

Here is the youtube link :

~Boh and Brenda M. Of Sykesville, MD stopped by Saturday to pick out a new Grand Sport Corvette Convt. We have 140 new Corvettes to choose from and they narrowed it down to 5 and then 3 and then they chose wisely...2017 Grand Sport Convt in Torch Red with Black top and two tone Red interior! Auto trans, 2LT Pkg, red calipers, Chrome wheels, Nav/PDR and so much more! Members of the Free State Corvette Club...they have a new ride for the Corvette Show in Ocean City, MD this year!!

~Irfan K. Of Bronxville, New York factory ordered his very first Corvette. 2017 Grandsport Cpe in Arctic White with Black interior, 3LT Pkg, 7spd manual trans, Carbon fiber exposed weave roof and hood, CF badge Pkg, micro fiber inserts, Black Alum wheels with Red stripe, GS Heritage Pkg, red safety belts, red stitching and much much more. They flew down yesterday...took an Uber from the Airport and drove the 250 miles home to Westchester County NY.

~Dave and Karen B. Of Amissville, Virginia came by 7 weeks ago and Factory ordered a new 2017 Corvette Grand Sport Cpe to replace their 2011 Supersonic Blue Convt with 8,200 miles. The 2017 GS is Admiral Blue with body color vents, 8 spd Auto trans, 2 LT Pkg, Chrome wheels, Nav/PDR, Heritage Pkg and much more!! Beauty is in the details.

~Carlton T. of Monroe, North Carolina dispatched a flatbed to bring his Collectors Edition down Rte 95 to his collection.

~This Silver GS Convt got shipped yesterday to Connecticut. Great Color combo and stripe.

~My customer Kenny Fischer sent me pics that he took of his Admiral Blue GS at Antietam National Battlefield. "September 17, 1862. The Battle of Antietam ended the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia's first invasion into the North and led to Abraham Lincoln's issuance of the preliminary Emancipation Proclamation." Little History lesson.

~My friend and Corvette customer Rock is always ready for a St Patty's day parade, Free State Corvette Club participated yesterday in the Ocean City, MD St Patty's Day Parade!

~Yesteryear: "a time in the past"... Throwback pics tend to take you back in time, a different Era. Post up which is your favorite picture this week.

What is the deal with people sitting on Corvettes? Been going on for generations now.

Another great week Mike. That yellow roadster pretending to be a submarine is pretty sad.

Great pictures! People in the 60s and 70s were not as protective with their Corvettes as they are today. My big brother who is two years older then me bought a 1975 Corvette Convertible brand new and drove it almost every day in the winter. I don't think he would ever drive it on a muddy road as indicated in one of those great pictures. Very interesting and thanks for posting the pictures.

For some reason my favorite was the first picture with the corvette and the traffic on the bridge/road. Just interesting to see the cars of the early 60s-also nice to see no SUVs on the road. Today the same picture would be 75% SUVs.

BTW based on your delivery pics everyone it seems is getting the GS.

Thanks again for the great pics.

Mike great pictures, love the posts each week. I want to thank you guys at Criswell for helping me thru the process to order my first corvette. Buying a corvette is something I have thought about since I was a kid. It is a long story but when came to Criswell I ended up working with Abe who did a great job.

My corvette is the Blade Silver convertible being loaded on the Plycar transport in the post. Love the car and without giving names you guys came to the rescue from another forum dealer who was not performing. You are the best! I will and have been giving you credit to my friends and on the forum.

Thanks and happy driving,

Paul

Great photos and a cool video with the kids this week!

Really liked the yellow roadster parked on the grass with the girl in the flowery dress next to it......
looks like SPRING and that is something all of us in the "all seasons" states are hoping for these days.

I drove my brand new '04 Z16 to a family get together back in the day and out of the corner of my eye I noticed my 6' 5" 270lb cousin talking on the phone in the front yard and walking towards my car as I went for another beer in the kitchen. When I came back he had his huge *** in jeans with rivets on the pockets leaning on my car as he chatted away. I walked over to him grabbed him by the sweater and yanked him off of my car while mouthing "get your fat *** off of my vette you *W@(#*$@#@$@#"

He couldn't understand why I was upset.

That Bat Corvette was made in honor of Adam West. Not a good mod job in my opinion.

thanks for putting this together Mike. Always puts a smile on my face reading the stories and looking at the happiness a new Corvette brings to people.

Worrying Does Not Take Away Tomorrow’s Troubles, It Takes Away Today’s Peace
^^^^ That's why I bit the bullet and bought my first new Corvette from you instead of waiting for my retirement in about 14 years.

And i am now convinced my favorite generation of Corvette is the C2.... only generation that i love every year and model.

Leaning on cars for pictures has been going on for decades. It's the connection or sense of ownership to said vehicle. The worst is when you have a Corvette all cleaned for delivery in the delivery area and parents let their kids touch the car and they see no issue with that.
