Never been pulled over for it and when I do get pulled over they never mention it. Not in the last 10 years anyway. However I emailed them all! Thank you

Seems like they propose the front plate elimination requirement here in Missouri every year too. Hasn't happened yet and doubt it every will.

meant to say looks better on c7 than 6... corrected the post. on the 7 it blends better, doesnt stand out as much, its like they put thought into it instead of just slapping on a generic holder

The only way to make things like this work is to hit 'em were it really hurts: the ballot box.
Nothing moves politicians like a threat of lose of their power.
If EVERY car club in the state of Texas banded together to get this thru, it would happen.
If every club member, along with their families, make it clear to those on the committee who oppose they would automatically lose their votes in the next election cycle and their opponents would receive a cash donation to their respective campaigns...

There just aren't many folks who give a flip about this issue. No one is a bigger car nut than I am, and I wouldn't mind it if the requirement went away, but I sure as hell wouldn't make my decision on who to vote for based upon this.
The bills often get tabled in committees and never get voted on, so there's really no one to campaign against.

Photo radar? Doesn't it take a photo of the front plate?

In some states yes, and there's also toll road cameras, where lack of a transponder will trigger both a front and rear shot.
As I said, I don't think it's possible to build a logical case for doing away with it. I hate the way it looks doesn't cut it.

"Every car club in Texas" = tiny minority = no power at the ballot box.

We held a rally at the Capitol with thousands of bikers and guess what happened?
Yup, the requirement was dropped.
Do what we did...hold a rally in Austin.
Flood the streets with cars from clubs...hell, make it a club outing.
Contact the media ahead of time and let them know where and what will be happening.
If no one is willing to get involved, if no one is willing to fight, then nothing will happen.
Americans invented the word APATHY when it comes to interactions with their govt.
Although laziness is an American trait, PEOPLE POWER does work.

There were clear benefits there, and he wrote a letter to the Governor thanking him for signing the bill into law.

I'm not missing anything, and I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your son.

The old red light cameras took pic of rear plate, and toll roads here in Houston take rear plate pictures as well.
Some neighboring states (as well as many non-neighboring) don't require front plates....
..........Thus it makes zero sense to attempt an across the board procedure in Texas of photographing the front plate for anything, unless you never want to catch out of towners.

YES, you did miss it.
As dprestidge pointed out perfectly:"don't want the government telling me I have to. It's about choice."
The example I used about the right to choose whether to wear a helmet or not wasn't about HELMETS.
It was about the right to change laws/regulations dictated by the govt. by leveraging the power of the people to scare the crap out of politicians thru resistance...nothing scares 'em more than the Sheeple getting riled up.
If you believe citizenship is about blind obedience, then I don't know what to say to you.

No, I didn't miss that point at all. It was just so blatantly obvious, it required no comment.

With one exception Most neighboring states LA, AR, OK & NM Oh I forgot about the 50 mile border with Colorado which requires 2 plates
