If there isn't much change, contact a forum dealer that Im sure will have plenty of orders in and see if they can change the order..
I'm not sure the time table for 17 to 18 will have any or enough over lap time. Info that I have been told is 17 orders must be in GM system on 4/13 Corvette Bash I believe is 4/27 . So if order is in 4/13 there is a good chance I think it could be picked up by GM and locked in before info at bash ,with final build date I believe is June 2 or 3. Might call dealer and ask if order is in for 17 at what point can 17 be cancelled and 18 ordered .

What kind of discount is your dealer offering? Will he give you the same on a 2018 order?

Also, are you planning on taking advantage of any GM incentives given at time of delivery?

Two things that come to mind of I was in your shoes. Personally, I would want to be the the car the quickest I could.

I'm getting GMS pricing 17 or 18, 18 will have some type of increase not known yet most likely 2 or 3% as for incentives hoping corvette loyalty is available when 17 or 18 comes in but can't count on for either one. I would like for when ever the SNOW melts and they can fill pot holes with hot blacktop not cold patch. In the mean time I have very nice low mileage C5 to drive once conditions are right.

I think it comes down to how flexible you are. If you are willing to take something off a lot then waiting until the bash and then either buying off the lot or waiting for 2018's seems like a viable choice. If what you want is exact then ordering now seems like a better plan.

If it helps I just ordered. One, I wanted museum delivery so no buying off the lot for me. Two, since I live in CO, if I wait for a fall delivery I am basically waiting a year since a car received right before winter is likely to be garaged until next spring.
What date did you order and what date did it go to 2000 and are you at 3000 . Info would help see how fast orders are going thru system. Thanks Dave

I think if you can hold out another year and two months you might get a great deal on a C7 as they release the C8s.
If it were me and it just was I would buy now! Who knows what tomorrow brings?

Things went very quickly--between order and getting the "you are at 2000, no more changes" email was one week exactly.

It went so fast that I may have to negotiate a little with the museum delivery. I don't want to drive back to Colorado too early in April (as much as I want it NOW) for fear of snow and/or weather under 55. I've been told it can wait at the museum for a little while if need be.

I have access to supplier pricing as well but didn't use it. The big forum dealers will beat it. Even on a new order.

Don't care about C8 or mid engine, Just wondering if Spice Red will be available for 18 and if it worth waiting for 18 if production starts in June for few weeks . waiting possible extra 2 month for 18 could be worth the time, waited this long in life to be able to order a new corvette two months won't make that much difference , what matters is getting it right cause this will be my one and only new CORVETTE! If I knew Spice Red was not available in 18 it would be a 17 ordered next week.

I contacted a couple forum dealers regarding trade value and they were way lower than I was able to get from a more local dealer, GMS price with higher trade came out better than forum dealers with bigger discount on new corvette. GMS discount is more than supplier pricing so with trade deal I got was its worth going in different direction and adding tax benefit this deal worked out best .Thanks for suggestion , Dave

THANKS looks like I will be sticking with 17as there will be no way to know about Spice Red in 18 in time . Like I said in earlier post this will be me one and only new corvette and I want to get it right and to be right I want Spice Red interior. What did you order? I know what your thinking regarding snow we got 20 inches last Tuesday.

You can see a record of my indecision in the "waffling on color choice" thread.

After TOO MUCH of consideration--it's almost like I've been dreaming of my 1st Corvette since I've been a kid--I went with: grand sport, 2LT, arctic white, two-tone adrenaline red interior, black wheels.

As common as that sounds I doubt I could have found it on a lot even if I wasn't set on museum delivery. I was also picky about what I didn't want--no automatic, no heritage package, no nav, no suede, no Z07. I like the look of the carbon fiber aero kit but would only have accepted that if it was heavily discounted.

Good luck with your decision / order!

For what it's worth, I think the combo you want is awesome. The Spice Red is awesome, and my guess is that it may go away for 18. I base this strictly on the fact that it is the least picked 3lt interior. I love the color as well as the full dash treatment, but it's like 1 percent of interiors, most likely due to cost. However that makes it rare, my guess is you won't see it in 2018..........

Thanks for complement on combo, The Spice Red I knew that was the interior for me once I saw it . I had to decide between AW or BS Blade Silver one out pretty quickly. Your guess about it going away in 18 because only 1 % of cars get Spice Red is my big concern. Cost probably did play a factor in so few ordering. I'm will to pay cause I like it that much and this will be my only new corvette. Thanks for your reply , Dave

Good point re "if you wait you'll have to get something off the lot." However if at the end of April it's announced 2018 production won't start until Fall will there still be the deep discounts on what is in inventory? Just Sayin'.

Also I know April 13 has been stated as the last date to order but that may depend on the dealer and their allocation. If there are constraints on some item you really want, will you be SOL?

My GS is on order as well!

Great looking combo AW with Spice Red was my second choice. Wife's suv and my truck are white, so I went silver. Went back and forth a few times decided time for a change. Enjoy that new ride and the museum delivery!

Carbon flash mirrors and badges? I think the black really looks hot on lighter colors.

Do you know for sure that your dealer has an allocation? Here on this forum we have seen cases where dealers claimed they had an allocation and months later the buyer was still waiting for the order to get into the system.
