For what it's worth, I think the combo you want is awesome. The Spice Red is awesome, and my guess is that it may go away for 18. I base this strictly on the fact that it is the least picked 3lt interior. I love the color as well as the full dash treatment, but it's like 1 percent of interiors, most likely due to cost. However that makes it rare, my guess is you won't see it in 2018..........

One note, a cargo shade comes standard with a 2LT and 3LT.

Good luck with the order. Definitely post pics when it comes in as it should be a looker.
Personally, I'm still going back and forth between Adrenaline Red and Spice Red and my window to order a 17' is rapidly closing. GM knows what it's doing by closing the 17' order window before the NCM Bash this year as I expect them to announce some major changes for the 2018 C7s. Although I expect a mid-engine, I'm not convinced it will be a Corvette, rather a Cadillac that will share the new production plant in Bowling Green. I also expect the C7 to run at least two more years with the C8 to bow in 2020. That's why the R&D into the new ZR1 or track Z06. I doubt they would put that much money into a one-year model run.
I do expect 3-4 new colors in 2018 and one of the whispers is a metallic white, which is another reason I'm on the fence.

MSG C5 I knew you were a fan of Spice Red from other post that we both would comment on. I was bummed out the way GM was holding out on info on 18,but like you said they know what they are doing ,we also know why too. I don't want to miss out on Spice Red so I'm going 17 GS I think your probably right regarding earlier post with Spice Red and Longbeach Red I just don't want to chance it. As for any other changes the only one that I would have wanted for my car would be a A10, I will be rolling the dice on A8 and hope for the best. I will post pictures and good luck on your decision on your new corvette. Dave

What's challenging for me is that I like the Spice Red based on the pictures of seen, especially when it's matched to a different color than Long Beach Red. However, the only time I've seen Spice Red in person has been when it's been matched up with Long Beach Red and the two reds matched up together doesn't do anything for me. Again, a personal preference type of thing as I know there are guys out there who love the look.
What will get me off the fence is if I see a Spice Red interior in an Arctic White or Blade Silver, but to your earlier point, there are not many, if any, sitting on dealer lots. Especially dealers near me. Ask me how I know!

I have seen in person Spice Red with AW and Longbeach Red I love it with AW and agree not so much with Longbeach two reds seem off a bit to me , like you said personal preference. I have on seen Spice Red with Blade Silver in photo's from build page and one on dealer lot in AZ photos. I don't know area of country your in ,if your go on Auto trader search 2017 corvette GS check off 3lt and at bottom of page type in Spice Red some AW, Watkin gray, one Blade Silver maybe one is nearby were you can see in person. If I remember right there was 6 or 7 AW and 2 WG 1 silver when I looked last week. I remember Fla, PA, IND,AZ,MD .Hope one is nearby so you san see for your self good luck searching. Dave

I was going to stay in the shadows for this thread, but...
Don't hold your breath on that one. That's a HUGE risk thinking that the next generation will be announced for the 2019 model year. They barely scratched the surface on the C7 Grand Sports and the potential unreleased ZR1 model for this upcoming year. I stand by it when saying that the C7's lifespan is only halfway done.
As far as the purpose of this thread, I'd just research to see how long the interior packages last for each model year. That doesn't guarantee Spice Red will be discontinued, but it gives you an idea of how each interior package is cycled. If the majority goes for one model year, that tells you everything you need to know.

What about incentives & rebates? Since those only apply at time of DELIVERY, it's kind of a gamble what will be available in April or May. I can only hope that Corvette Loyalty Rebate will still be in effect as I'm counting on that $2K! That plus $1500 Dealer Tag and maybe $1K from GM Finance (even if I only do it for 30 days) would make a huge difference in the bottom line cost of the car.

If you were intent on getting a GS with a 7M, I would think it would be a no brainer. GM is scheduled to close it Bowling Green plant down starting in June until late this year. An undisclosed source tells me that the current inventory glut and heavy early discounting of the 2017 models was planned so that they had Corvettes for the remainder of the year and possibly a shortage, and as the 2018 launch would be delayed. If true, this would possibly mean that the discounts we see today may not apply to the 2018 models as inventory and allocations vanish. So this may be the best time to buy a Corvette. And if you wanted more HP, just get the Z06.
But now throw in your desire for a paddle shifter, and the decision becomes more complicated. The A8 has had it's issues, and from what I have been reading, GM has not yet completely resolved the problems. And the A10 is still unproven, so it could be better or maybe even worse. I have heard from A8 owners of problem free A8's and yet it seems to be a common issue posted in this and other forums. So it's a gamble either way, go with something GM has been working on for 4-5 years and hope they will eventually find the resolution, or go with something that is new but completely unknown with perhaps a whole new crop of issues. But like I mentioned earlier, I don't think you will get a better deal on the car than now. About 70% of cars on dealer lots are autos and they are offering deep discounts of more than 20%. I ordered my GS because I couldn't find a 7M optioned with the 3LT and the way I wanted it, but with the number of autos I see, I'm sure someone will have something very close. Good luck with you decision.

Did you read the Laguna Seca Thread that I posted on both C7 ZO6 and C8 forums? They were testing the narrow body Stingray with GS Aero on it. When I saw that I immediately thought horsepower bump on the LT1 in 2018. Also a A10 over a A8 seems to me to be redundant since the shift points are already very tight on the A8. Tadge Juechter has already commented on the fact that a A10 is unnecessary on any Corvette which I agree with. With a power band as wide as the LT1 and even more so on the ZO6, the A10 would be shifting constantly. I have a friend with a A10 on his new Chevrolet pickup truck and he has complained about the constant shifting. Do we even know if the A10 will fit in the transaxle that is currently used. I thought that they already had very tight size constraints on the switch from A6 to A8. The new paint shop at Bowling Green would be enough for me to wait on a 2018 as I would do a paint correction on any 2017 anyway. The absolute best looking GS that I have seen here in California was a Blade Silver with Shark Grey vents, Standard silver painted wheels with the optional Spice Red interior package. All silver roof and silver side mirrors. No stinger hood. No stick-on hash marks !!!! IMHO they cheapen the beautiful lines of car. It was a stunner!!

If 2018 I would doubt there will be any incentives,Hopefully corvette loyalty will still be around at time of delivery.

A10 and a little bump in HP and I'm trading my 2014 A6 Z51 vert for a 2018 GS A10 vert!

You know what is available on the 17. You DO NOT know what will be available on the 18. If you're holding out for an A10 you're going to be disappointed. Buy what you know now or wait for the unknown and hope for the best.
