Default Hood decal/stinger, are you still happy?

One of the mods I want to install on my new Z06, is the Jake Logo Hood Decal/Stinger; https://www.trunkmonkeyparts.com/cor...60470-23360470

Since this is applied to the surface of the hood, it will have an edge, a slight edge, but still, an edge. My question to the collective is for those that have this on their C7, have the edges started to lift up or has a polish/wax rim line formed around the edges?

If any of the above is true, I could/would seek out someone in my area that could paint the stinger, sans the Jake Logo of course...

Thanks.

paint is always better than decal but decal you can remove if you ever get tired of it. I have jake on my 17 GS and I'm happy with it as with every thing you have to take care when you wash and wax.

I hated the lip. I had it painted on last month and had the mirrors done at the same time.

No issue for me with the stripe lip. Daily driver and looks as good as it did the day I bought it. My car is white so if I have wax at the lip it is not seen.

I had xpel done on my entire hood, over the stripe. No edge to worry about. Just a thought to consider in case you had not already.

I had not thought of that. XPEL may be in my future. I have other mods I want to do first, but XPEL is a consideration.

Thanks.

Excluding XPEL, most others seemed to have a positive experience.

Thank you to all.

Love the look and don't mind the lip but I do have a bubble on the edge I plan to bring it back to the dealer to take car of it.

I've had a couple GT500s w/strips, and my current Z06 w/the Stinger. I've never had any issues with vinyl on any vehicle. Certainly proper installation is critical.

Paint would be better with a clear coat over the entire hood. I ordered my car with the decal and am very satisfied with it. I have only used the clear paint sealants so I don't have the white edges.

I love the Stinger Stripe look, but wanted to have something other than Black or CF. Since my car is Arctic White, its a blank canvas, so I went with Blade Silver from Phoenix Graphix. VERY good quality and a reasonable price.

Just ordered a 3M carbon flash stinger from an aftermarket vendor. Looking forward to getting it installed.
