Little do these Left Lane Lingerers know but they are costing taxpayers MILLIONS of dollars. Traffic engineers figure since roads are crowded and slowing, more lanes are needed. Nope, just need to have people move over in many cases.

If you "flash to pass" here in VA (especially on Interstate 95), it is likely to result in the left lane hog slowing down deliberately. If it is later in the day, you might get brake-checked.
P.S. Poor drivers are like dead people in many ways. Everyone around knows they are dead (or bad drivers), but the dead folks don't know they are dead and the bad drivers are not aware of their lack of skill.

Iam starting to believe they actually have no clue Last week on the AC Expressway on my way to Philadelphia I come up on this car in the left lane as I approach she moves to the right to let me pass After I go by I look in the mirror and she gets right back in the left lane WTF

It is the law in most states that you are supposed to move to the right for faster traffic to pass -- but it's almost never enforced.
Here in VA, the highways are peppered with "Slower Traffic Keep Right" signs, but most folks honestly never consider themselves to be slower traffic. They just think everyone else drives too fast.
Simple rule of thumb: If you are being passed on the right, then you are driving in the wrong lane.

She may have interpreted your speeding and flashing your headlights at her as aggressive or bullying road behavior. Just a wild guess.
Yup.
Yup.

You guys are missing the point...
So, if you see a white C7 in front of you - driving under the posted speed limit - flash me ONCE and I will dive for the right lane. But if I am at or near the posted speed limit - and you signal me to move so you can speed up and endanger my family and others who use that road? You have a fight on your hands.

Sitting in the left lane is one of the most dangerous things one can do! Even if you are going significantly over the speed limit.
It's not the fast lane, it's not the faster lane, it's the fastest lane; if someone is wanting to go faster than you, let them by. It's not your job to be lane monitor, unless you have a badge.
Many states have that codified, and even those that don't, have laws against allowing you to impede traffic in the left lane, regardless of speed. In all 50 states the left lane is recognized as the PASSING lane. THOSE are the rules, BTW.
Much of the road rage is people dawdling in the left lane, so why would you (as a mature adult) want to purposefully **** off an "dangerously immature" driver?

Here is my position....anyone driving the speed limit is doing OK. If someone wants to break the limit - and endanger the lives of my wife and kids and any others - has to play by my rules. If a flasher approaches me and I am BELOW the limit, I gladly move out of the way. But those who want to speed and risk other people's lives? No way. I know many of us are quite capable of driving fast safely, but how does any guy in front of you know that? Speeding is for the track. I track my cars. But on the highway I follow the rules. Those who think they can flash people out of their way and yap on their phones, etc. do NOT have my blessing. The majority of them are dangerously immature.
So, if you see a white C7 in front of you - driving under the posted speed limit - flash me ONCE and I will dive for the right lane. in Louisiana the sign says "slower traffic move to the right lane" does not say below speed limit move over - - so you may be going the speed limit - I go 5 miles over - so MOVE OVER

I like to refer to them as left lane zombies...they just cruise along at the same speed as the cars to the right of them holding up traffic and have no clue that they are being idiots. Wish LEOs would start writing some tickets for it. They'd bring in all kinds of revenue, if the would...

Where I learned to drive passing on the right was illegal as was driving in the left lane unless passing, even if there was no traffic. In SC we recently passed a law that said you can't drive in the left lane unless you are going the speed limit. That is not even enforced!

Wifey and I love taking long driving vacations. We've experienced this "left laner" behavior in every state we've driven through. I think many people have this "I don't wanna get stuck behind slow traffic" thing so they ride in the left lane as if that's the only way to avoid being slowed down. Many times, in frustration, I've past long lines of cars all playing follow the leader in the left lane when the right lane is wide open and unused. After passing them, I often think "I've just shown you the right lane is faster, why don't you guys use it like you're supposed to." I'm sure many in that "follow the leader" crowd are wishing the guy in front of them would move over, seldom does anyone move. I hate passing on the right, though, cuz I feel unsafe doing that.
Its ironic that the "I don't wanna get stuck behind slow traffic" people are the ones slowing traffic down to begin with.
I make it a habit to move to the right lane whenever I can, using the left lane for what its made for. Also, watching and moving over helps keep me alert, helps with situational awareness. Sometimes I'll see someone follow my example and move over. Not often enough, though.

I watch folk drive to relieve boredom. I life folk who get on a limited access highway with three or four lanes in each direction and immediately go to the left lane then stay there until about 100 feet before their exit and then dart back across to get off.
I like folks who can't quite decide how fast to go. On the highway (and even around town) I put it on cruise. I pass a guy, a few minutes later he passes me. A few minutes later I have to go around him again and I'm on cruise. These days I give a guy one pass then it ain't gonna happen again unless is car is faster than 180.
