Hello
Hello everyone. I am new to the forum. Been lurking for some time as I have been a fan of Corvettes for as long as I remember. In fact, I have been waiting until I could get my first one.
That day is approaching. I am starting to look pretty hard
What do you all think of purchasing a new 2016 right now? It seems like you can get some pretty good deals with the tags, financing incentive, and pricing. For instance, I am seeing new ones discounted over 10K. I have found one I like. It's a 1LT, has mag control, transparent roof, and PDR.
Just was looking for some general advice. I can't wait to get my new C7.
Take care and best to everyone

"New"
There does seem to be some financial aspects that would make it a good deal IMO. The "new" aspect is one I am wondering if I should have any concerns? Thanks for the reply

I would imagine that the deals on '16s would be pretty good. If one meets you approval, jump on it and enjoy the car.

Get the car that speaks to you. You will know when you see her

I would wait and see what is new for the 2017 and then make a decision.

everyones situation is different. Not sure this is your first and last corvette or first of many or you dont even know.
In general since we're 30 days out from the bash the 18 change will be known soon. Even with the closing of the plant there is plenty of inventory.
And you owe it to yourself to look used. There are sooooooo many low mileage babied cars out there.
Find what you want, color, model accessories would be the first move. They just focus on that car used, new 16, 17 or 18.

Certainly get what you want and can afford, but the 2LT is the best bang for the buck. Also, some of forum dealers will have the best pricing. Check them out.

The one thing you do gain by buying a 2017 is the 0% APR/72 mo financing, but if you have 800+ credit you can get 2.5-2.75% on your own.
If the car is exactly what you'd want then I'd try to negotiate a bit more off, if you are just looking at it because of the price then the price is nothing special and I'd check out the forum dealers and whatever is local to you. The one problem you will have with 2017's is that dealers are heavily stocking Grand Sports, so selection isn't nearly as good on the lower optioned cars (and this is greatly magnified if you want a M7).
Regarding the specific options on the car, I really like mag ride and would not consider a car w/o it but YMMV. If you want the transparent roof you should strongly consider the dual roof option; transparent roof is $1k and dual roof is $2k. If you decide later on that you want the colored roof (transparent roof will let a lot of heat into the car in the summer), I believe the body color roof is $4500. Be aware of the things that you will not get on a 1LT. These include:
HUD
front parking camera
memory seats
universal remote
auto dimming mirrors
heated/vented seats

Do you plan on tracking the Z06? If so you will want the 2017 and a manual transmission as GM added additional cooling to the 2017's that are showing a noticeable difference vs the 15+16 model years. The automatics are more prone to having heat issues at the track.
If you are not tracking then I would be targeting close to 15-20% off MSRP on a 2016 as the 2018's are around the corner and there are tons of unsold 2017's already.
Logic tells me the best deals will be on leftover 2016+2017's when the 2018's start getting built in June. But there will always be a better deal on there, you have to do what makes sense to you.
Also look at gently used. Lots of them out there.

I do not plan on tracking the car.
The offer is on a car that has a MSRP of 64775
The selling price includes a $4,000 tag and $1,000 GM financing incentive. We do qualify for the GM financing being offered on 2016 Corvettes right now.
Basically, the price is Supplier less 5K and then 4K over trade in on my truck. A mutual friend is the brother-in-law of the manager there and I feel like this is a strong offer
The car is a 2016 1LT MT
It has Mag Ride
Chrome Wheels
Carbon flash on the mirrors
transparent roof
PDR
I was torn on a 1LT or 2LT, but I didn't find a color I wanted in a 2LT. I like how the different colors look, but I didn't really want a black car.
