I traded in a '13 1LE Camaro (I drove the crap out of it for 46k miles and had about 1.5k track miles on it at HPDE's) to purchase my '14 Z51 M7 and while the Camaro handled fantastically on the road for DD and on track, it was heavy and felt heavy compared to the C7. I have not driven a 6th Gen Camaro with the alpha platform, but I felt a dramatic difference in weight driving the C7 and love the way it corners. While the 1LE was incredibly balanced and felt composed in the corners, the C7 was built to turn and seems to beg for more corner speed.

I'll be able to give a more accurate comparison after April 22-23rd and my trip to Spring Mountain.

The traditional definition of a sedan is an automobile that can easily transport 4-5 people in reasonable comfort. Look it up and you'll get that sort of definition. For example, a "family sedan." The Camaro is a two door "sedan" that pretends to have a back seat. The British might call it a "saloon" such as the Mk II Jaguar, which was marketed originally as a "saloon you could take to the track." Now look at other sedans on the marketplace, from an Impala to a Buick. Or, if you want to go fast, a Cadillac CTS-V or V-Sport, which are very high in creature comforts. They do "sedan" well and they do "go fast" well, too. Those cars fit the definition of a sedan much better than a Camaro, which is cramped with little visibility. It goes fast, but as a sedan, it sucks. It's not a good sedan at all. Do you want to ride in the back seat for any length of time? Anybody?

I wouldn't have thought this was an especially difficult concept. I confess I'm surprised.

Very impressive.. The interior on these is very nice too. That said I think Chevy completely missed the mark on styling. They simply made it look way too much like the 5th generation and the poor visibility continues to hurt sales.

Sales have been so bad lately I would not be surprised to see all new sheet metal in a year or less.

If you look at the numbers it is 3 tenths of a second over a minute and a half and it has 200 more horses compared to the GS

It's not a sedan.

I just pulled the winter cover off my car for the first time in 4 months, in hopes of a drive tomorrow. I have owned the car 3 years now. But when I pulled the cover off, I'm like "Dayum!" That's a nice looking ride right there! I know there are "faster" cars out there, but mine is still a keeper!

Still trying to get my head around the video statement that the bits and pieces shared with the vette and cts-v that are on the zl1 is better executed on the zl1 than on the $90+k CTS-V.

Still trying to understand why all the hoopla about the A10. Other than slightly better gas mileage I don't get it. Is 10 gears in an auto that much greater than 8? Is 12 or 14 gears better than 10?

I think it's now nothing more than marketing to sell more cars.

That Camaro seems pretty sweet. I like the looks and it has rear seats. For me, the biggest attraction is it can actually go to a track. I love the convertible when the top is down but damn it annoys me that I can't track it.

Every time my grand kids sat down in my Camaro, the first thing out of their mouths was " i can't see."

I'll wait for the SS RS Zl1 1LE 18-speed Berlinetta Z28 sedan due out in 2019. Slow sales always mean more gimmicks. The Zl1 1LE debuted last month (what the hell is a ZL1 1LE anyway?) and has 2 Walmart snow shovels jammed into the front bumper as canards. Still have my 13 1LE, love the 5th gen, but the 6th gen is the reason I went with a vette last fall.

I'm calling B.S. on that.

According to the Chevy website, the ZL1 weights 3,883 lbs.
http://www.chevrolet.com/camaro-zl1/specs/trims.html
The Z06 weighs 3,524 lbs.
http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-z0...ecs/trims.html
That is a difference of 359 lbs.

The Camaro is shaped like a shoebox with 4 wheels.
The Z is sleek and lower to the ground.
NO WAY the Camaro has the same or better aero performance.

I'm sorry, but I'm not buying this nonsense from MT.
much easier to drive quickly.
Depending upon the skill of the driver, it may very well be true (being a reflection of driver skill and all).

A sedan can have 2 doors. A sedan has A, B & C pillars. A Camaro is a pony/muscle car.

Sedans: Impala, Malibu, SS, CTS.

So many Corvette owners put their fingers in their ears and repeat they have the best car ever when news like this comes out.... lol. The ZL1 is a bad bitch and I would consider trading the C7 for one... but I like that targa.

Hopefully it's not a hunk of **** like the 8 speed was, that would be a huge advantage

Two things that come to mind:
- They should probably be testing both the ZL1 and Z06 on the same data/timeframe
- Randy Pobst was the driver and he is an amazing driver and pretty straight forward. If he says the ZL1 is easier to drive I believe it.

The track can have a big impact on the times too. From other head to head reviews I have seen the Z06 only barely had a slight advantage to the ZL1 in straight line speed. If the ZL1 puts the power down better and is easier to drive on a tight track I can see where MT got these results.

Sedan vs coupe.. Doesn't matter but I can tell you the 6th gen Camaro backseat is a joke. It is probably there just for insurance purposes or something.

Also getting in and out of the backseat of the Camaro is a joke. The front seats do not really go forward far enough and the seatbelt is in the way. Unless you are about 5' and 100lbs or less don't think about using the backseat in the Camaro unless there is a dire emergency.

If I were looking for a fully functional sedan with a (nice size)back seat and with huge performance, I would select an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. It's both fast on the straights and quick through the corners(and you can see out of it).

I became a believer after that ZL1 'ring video, but I'll still keep underpowered slower shifting C7 that is more fun to shift and is far better looking.
