Default Holy comparison Batman

Motor Trend just clearly stated that the new '17 Camaro ZL1 is clearly faster and better handling than the same engine equipped ZO6 and much easier to drive quickly....holy LS4 Batman!

Well to be fair they said it was a better driver's car. To them that means more fun and more controllable. Speed-wise it tied the grand sport at Big Willow--the Z06 is still faster. That said it looks to be an excellent car and I'm excited to see GM engineering absolutely turning the automotive world on its head.

Here's the video, if I'm allowed to post non-Corvette videos here (not sure).

If the Grand Sport can hang on the track, it must handle better. That said, this car sounds like a hoot! Heck of a deal.

I bought a Camaro and kept it for two years and barely three thousand miles. The visibility was horrible and it felt like you were inside a bunker. I'm a 5'4" small framed female, so that could have something to do with it, but the vette is better in every way (except price, but that's okay). They can keep their ZL1.

That show was a re-run. It appears GM is going to give the 2018 Camaro the A10. See what they say about it then. Hope they can do a better job than they did with the A8. We will have to wait and see. Looks like Ford is having problems with the A10. I won't be in a hurry to buy a 2018 Camaro.

I have to agree that Corvette's have nice sight lines.

It looks like a great car - I don't deny that. I guess I'm turning into an old fart, though. A 2 - 3 second difference on a loop that's nearly a minute and a half long? I'm sorry but I just don't see the point. That could just as easily reflect the skill of the driver as anything else yet I know that there are many out there who live and breathe by those couple of seconds. Other than bragging rights, why would anyone care?

Default as others have pointed out

and I as well, the biggest reason why a Camaro would never be in my wheelhouse is the absolutely terrible view from inside; the full 360 view reminds me of some of the shots from the Brad Pitt movie "Fury" based around the Sherman Tank. The view out is just terrible, you sit so low you can't use the arm rest and it's one of the (saddest) representatives of "form over function".....add to the fact that it is a kick butt performer (especially for the price) so you're flying along with a really crappy outward view....whew

I must concur! Prior to getting my Z51 I had a 2013 Camaro. Granted it was a V6 and all but as far as for drivability - it was a boat - heavy and had absolutely no racing finesse. I'll sick with my Z51 - they can keep their ZL1.

Interesting to say the least. Nice damn car with a back seat.

I love how a mic was placed to accentuate the SC whine. Unless it is unlike the Z06 I've never heard a peep from my SC.

Yes the Grand Sport handles and brakes better. Big Willow rewards high horsepower saying even more about the Grand Sport's ability. Remember it was 22.3 to the Porsche 918's 22.2 around the Figure 8.

I just traded in my 2015 ZL1 on a 2016 Z51 3LT, both manual. Presuming the Gen6 ZL1 is a better driving car, and no doubt it's awesome.

I did love my ZL1. But ... I pined and pined to be back in a vette. Agree with JenFZ09 (and also female). The interior did feel like a dark cave. I do miss the hp, but the Stingray IS more fun to drive, and interior is so much better in the vette.

Only if you only have kids under 5 and they don't have any legs! Trust me, there's no real room back there...

Some go crazy over tenths. On a track 2-4 miles long .1-.5 seconds is a wash IMO even with a professional driver.

OK. I understand from a numbers perspective, but I just don't get it. As fast and nimble as it is, the Camaro is a very poor excuse for a sedan. Judge it for its efficiency as a sedan and it loses.

Yeah, well, I didn't say a usable seat.

I haven't had a daily driver car with a back seat since '82 (High School). Hopefully I'll never drive one again. ; )

Could you explain your comments a bit more? What is sedan efficiency? I'm not sure wtf that means looking at a performance coupe.
