Default How can new 2017 A8 C7'S still be having TC problems COME ON GM!!!

Guys are still posting TC and shudder problems with their 2017 A8 C7'S TRANNY . I have never seen a issue that still hasn't been fixed after 3 years on a Corvette COME ON GM this is RIDICULOUS.

Good luck guys You don't deserve this especially into the 3RD year of the new A8 tranny.

How about the steering column lock issue and the rocking seats and the gas tank senders on the C5 or the dropped valve problem on the C6 Z06? Or the Tremec 1st to 2nd gear synchronizer nibbles/grinding since 2008.

I think GM is going to try and get everyone with an A8 past their 5 year warranty and get the A10 into production to replace the A8 to resolve their A8 problems. I really doubt that GM will get the A8 resolved as they have a replacement design(A10) in the works. No point in them spending tons of money to fix the A8 when it will shortly be rendered obsolete by the A10.

Even then GM is dragging their feet getting their version of the A10 into production. Ford already has the same A10 in production on their high volume trucks, where as GM has only just recently started using the A10 in their ultra low volume Camaro ZL1(but not in their ZL1 1LE version).

This is the first chronic problem on Vettes. I recall on the C6 how Harmonic Balancers would come apart and need to be replaced. I remembering having to shell out hundreds to replace it with a ATI balancer. At the time, folks would have GM replace the balancer under warranty or out of pocket only to replace them again. Never heard of harmonic balancers failing before. Real GM clust F8ck.

I agree - GM just biding time till they are out of warranty. I got an extended warranty, but looks like I won't be keeping the A8 20 years like other vettes I have owned. Maybe the aftermarket will eventually get around to a good fix.

Lots of calculations probably to figure out how to minimize cost for them.

I suppose reputation does not really have a cell in that spreadsheet.

I am terrified of having cars any longer off of factory warranty. Too complex, even dealerships can't figure stuff out anymore (although they are happy to shotgun parts at your cost off-warranty until they get it right).

Speaking from my own experience (not with just GM).

The reason I won't even entertain trading up from my 2014 A6 to a 2018 A8 is because of the issues with the A8.

Sorry GM, but no go.

Just once I'd like to hear Tadge J admit the truth that GM just doesn't give a $hit about A8 owners.

Dave, I must be one of the lucky ones! No issues, yet with my 2016 Stingray Z51, A8, built 10/15. That said, I typically trade every 3 years.

If they aren't going to fully fix the A8 issues watch the used values of those cars plummet as warranty expire approaches.

Good for you and I wish you nothing but the best but you have to admit this is ridiculous Tom.

100% Same here RedC7AZ and I want to trade up but I didn't want to start bragging about my A6 so I left that out of my thread!

You mean how Tadge has stepped up to the plate to let the C6 Z06 owner know what is really wrong with the LS7's heads so they can(at their own expense) get them correctly repaired so they don't have to pull their heads every 20,000 to measure the guides?

The LS7 head fiasco has really hurt the reputation of the C6 Z06(and it's resale value), and I think it will do the same for the C7 with the A8.

Talk about ridiculous, how many times are you going to start threads on the same topic. LOL. At least the 8L90 can handle the Z06 HP/Torque, which the 6L80 cannot.

Joe how about the C7 Z06 2015-2016 over heating issues but at least the problem has been corrected with the 2017 Z06 model. Why 3 years and counting with the 2015-2017 A8 I don't get it RIDICULOUS!

As many times as it takes to shame GM into doing something?
