Default Does anyone offer Replica Z51 wheels?

I've been looking online. Last year I bought some replica cup wheels for my C6 that were very nice. I just bought a C7 and I'd really like to get some replicas Z51 wheels. Any idea when those will be out and available?

If I can't find any replicas I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and buy some take off Z51 wheels. I just hate to pay too much for something and then they come out with the replicas.

Any info?

Mike

I'd like to see replica's in C7 sizes of the 'spider' wheels that were offered on C6 Z06's.

I'm still looking for a set myself. IMHO, the C7 base wheels are too plain. I'd prefer the Z51 or Z06 style rims that would fir my Stingray.

there was a comment in a similar thread that GM now copyrights their wheel designs....long overdue idea....so no knockoffs will surface....hasn't been verified yet, but who knows...could be true.

Default Yes

I have it from a good source that there will be replicas released soon. The design will have to be changed a little bit due to patents but it will be extremely similar to the current Z51 design. Look for them to start appearing in the next 60 to 90 days. In addition the wheels will be offered in at least C5 thru C7 sizes.

It's really too bad that the manufacturer prices their one piece wheels nearly equal to other more exotic designs. I figure it's just so they can gouge insurance companies or charge more for up models.

Either way it doesn't make sense to pay 3 or 4 thousand $$ for something that can be retailed elsewhere for $1000.

As usual the market dictates the price and competition is a good thing. :-)

I have a set of Z51 Chrome Wheels for sale if you are interested. They were on my car for about 100 miles before I switched them to the black Z51 wheels. Asking $2,900 plus shipping. These are $4000 wheels if you buy them from Chevrolet. Let me know.

Yeah, I saw your post. Wasn't really looking to spend that much and that is why I started this thread looking for replica wheels. If you know of any replica wheels or are more in the replica wheel price range please let me know.

Default Replica's coming

Good news guys. Replica Z51 wheels are coming. They are in late development and should be released by August. They are going to run about $1100 in chrome and $100 less for painted. Too bad I have to wait a few months but it'll be worth it.

I'll post a few pictures when I have time. Right now I can't do it from my iPad. I am not a seller or any way affiliated with these wheels. Just wanted let you guys know they're coming. They will be available in all finishes, the guy told me.

Default Answer

The guy told me they will be available at all finishes. Chrome, shiny black, matte black and machine. My understanding is they will offer it also in C4-C7 sizes. The actual center will be a little bit different in than the pictures I have. I don't have time right now to post the pictures but I will later. I forgot to ask if they were going to have the ZR1 wheel. I'll look into that too.

Keep in mind I am not a contact person or selling these wheels. I'm only posting this so people will know they don't have to pay ridiculous prices to get "The Look". Soon there will be affordable options! Another sidebar, Z51 wheels are not $4000 through the dealer. I got a quote the other day for $2800 new from a Chevy dealer in chrome. Call me cheap but I'm waiting for the replicas.

Default Shiny Black

Shiny black looks good to me. I think that's the way I'm going to go.
