WTB: GS Creations tail light blackouts
I'm interested in buying GS Creations tail light blackouts. If anyone is selling these used and undamaged send me a PM. I think these are the best looking blackouts but the price to buy them new is rediculus.

So if you think they are worth $400 why didn't you buy a set from him for that price. I see you just brought a second hand set for $250. I agree with you that they are worth will more then $12 but he used to sell them new for $179 on his site and made a profit before raising them to $379.. Some people might pay that but it's seems you and I won't.

Yeah, as I said, I just got a set yesterday. Their fit and finish are NOT perfect. It's good for sure, but not perfect and not $400 good. I bought a set like this for my 2013 Mustang headlights from americanmuscle and it was 60 bucks. About the same fit and finish. If these were $100, I would have bought them a long time ago. I haven't been able to find them anywhere else though and THAT is why they charge $400. Because they can. Once the mold is paid for, it actually probably does only cost $12 to make. The markup on these things is RIDICULOUS. Anyway, yes I like them, but doing it over again, I wouldn't buy them and I wouldn't buy them second hand for $200. I'd say these are worth $100 brand new. Just because it goes on a Corvette doesn't mean it's by default expensive. Plastic is plastic.

I actually sent GS Creations an email concerning the price for these. I also told them there are sales to be made at a lower price point. Here is their response:
Hello James, We thank you for your email and information. R&D, plus production costs have set our pricing. These by no means are an easy product to produce. Many have tried and only come up with a flat design which does not look good at all. Like many fine crafted products in the world today we hope our attention to detail is noticed but again we thank you for taking the time out to let us know your observations.

I know that Massdrop has been in contact with GS Creations about a possible group buy of these, hopefully priced closer to the original price GS creations sold them for of $179.
If not I've been in contact on the forums with a vendor that does an amazing job of tinting the factory tail lights for $200.

At 400, people are sitting on the sidelines and not buying waiting for a competitor or price drops...
At 200, they would sell a ton.

Greg and I have been discussing options for a group buy on the tail light covers. He is open to the idea, but wanted to start with the side/rear markers first. You can check out the group buy running right now for the side/rear markers here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...group-buy.html
I'm working closely (and frequently) on this, but these things don't happen overnight. I'll keep you guys posted.
