Black ball with a grey shifter. It's been in my car a few months, I can pull it out this weekend and ship out Monday. I orderes all new dynomat, grease, and foam pads from MGW so it'll have everything a brand new kit would have

Hi Kenneth, I've sent your payment through PayPal... Thanks. Is it simple to install? Maybe you can tell me the areas of concern if any for installation of this unit.

Dropped it off at FedEx today

Install isn't too bad. The hinson is a bit easier since you dont have to replace the lower box. There's a couple you tube videos that are very helpful. The only thing that weirded me out was removing that shaft from the oem shift box and then putting it into the mgw box. Its not hard at all just seemed like it was going to be. I included the installation alignment tools that came with it. I ever used them, so maybe i just got lucky.

Here's a video showing that lower box part

The only issues I had installing mine were getting the boot to release from the shifter.....bascially the very first step! I thought I was screwed at that point, if I couldn't do the very first and most basic step. Turns out I had to get a towel and some pliers to grap the collar and twist it the 90 degrees.

The other issue I had was in the MGW video he states to put the shifter into 4th gear when taking things apart to give more room. When it came to using the tool to center the shaft, it was way off and I couldn't figure out what I did, until I realized I was in 4th gear and trying to center it for Neutral. Duh! I don't recall in the video telling you to put the shifter in neutral before removing the lower box.

Other than that it really is a pretty easy install. The application of the sound deadener and heat shield is a little frustrating, but not difficult, just because it is so sticky you have to be careful sliding it in to where it needs to be.

I completely agree with 08G8V8, getting the boot to release can take some effort. I had previously installed a Hinson shifter, when back to stock, then to the MGW, so my boot isn't bad at all having come off a few times already.

The dynomatt is definitely as sticky as can be, just be careful not to cut yourself with it, the thin metal on it is sharp on the edges!!

The MGW site has great step by step instructions as well
