C7 of Year Finalist (track prepared) 2019

Default Katech development C7 baseline chassis dyno

Now that the car is broken in we put it on the rollers today. It put down 412rwhp bone stock. After fabricating some dyno peripherals it looks like we're finally going on the engine dyno tomorrow with our spare LT1 test engine. I've been anxiously waiting for that.

This is the 2nd dyno I've seen with the stock C7 ~413hp.

I find it interesting this is the exact horsepower my C6 puts down with high lift rockers & Melrose headers, w/o a tune. I also hasten to point out that my 2009 with the Z51 weighs less than the C7 does . . . .

Of course, the C7 engine will soar to new HP with mods, as all the other LSX engines have done.

But in the meantime, I find it comforting that I won't be embarrased by any stock C7 I meet on the road.

Well the only one you can run up against in STL (for now) is me. Better hurry - won't be stock for long!

Had to give you crap.

I'm not saying the C7 will beat you as it's gonna be dependent on driver skills of both, but you can't just compare peak numbers especially from a different dyno...that's how you lose money in races

I've seen 12.0 to 12.2 AFR on the stock C7's we've had on the dyno which is interesting with the DI. They generally like to be a little leaner and I would have expected 12.8 to 13.0 myself.

Kind regards,

Seriously! I was starting to think it was one big secret or something... Like the curb weight.

Interesting how lean it looks from factory. Any timing info at wot?

That's fantastic and I'm sure you're very proud.
Did your almighty C6 put down those numbers on either of the dynos in question?

It's the under the curve where the lt1 beats the ls-3. Loses ground then can't pull back!
That's where you need the A&A kit!

S.
I read your half-baked sarcasm. Weak.
Dyno have always been used on all auto forums for general comparisons.
I made a comment on a comparison between a lightly modded C6 and a stock C7. Obviously the C7 will make even more power with the usual mods. I can deal with it. You need to be less tightly wrapped.

Hi Jason,

Do you guys have any prior experience with DI? I am surprised (as others are) at the A/F. If I remember correctly even boosted DI applications have been tuned leaner than that from the factory.

Any comment?

That is a factory tune in the graph. We didn't tune the car.

Sorry about the confusion, I knew this was a factory tune.

I am wondering why it is so rich? I have little to no experience with DI, but it seems that I remember seeing BMW335 dyno sheets (turbo DI) with cars that were extremely lean in the mid range (all the way up to peak torque) then flattening out around 13:1.

By GM production standards its lean.
