The amount of cool air from the bottom of the fender well on the C7 is most likely not that material. You can probably home brew a plastic connector tube and insulate it to keep it somewhat cool. But you will have to cut up the inner fender & grill to get cold air .....give it some time and someone will home brew a cold air syatem
I understand all that but why would someone home brew one before one of the best intake companies can make one? Especially after they published a teaser

Because the teaser is 1 1/2 years old with no follow-up. I don't think Vararam is even working on one.

I agree, but the question was "why didn't this system ever come out?"

Probably because they have focused all of their efforts on their cross ram, dual plenum intake manifold that is finally about to be produced!

Can you actually feel the difference with just the AFT cai?? I know they claim around 18 horse/22 torque which is a great amount for a cai....just curious if you can feel the difference between stock.

Just me thinking that you can get cold air if you install "home brew" ductwork from the filter to the grill. Early on in the C6 generation our members propped the shroud & etc. to get cold air.

The C7 is a bit more difficult as the filter is on the side and not in the front. While installing my Z06 grill I drove around with the nose off and hp tuners. The air intake temperatures dropped by 10 degrees.

Just imagine what some ductwork routing the cold air directly to the filter would do. That is possibly why we have not seen a Vararam intake system, as it would have to seal to the filter box.

I called Vararam today they said they had two prototypes and had not decided which way to go yet. No time frame for a release.

It would be interesting to see how they get the "ram" in Vararam considering the new air path of the C7

Sneak peak at a vapor product in production for almost 2 years? Pass.

I know some will disagree with me but I don't think the aftermarket CAI's for the C7 are worth the price. Unless you just like looking at your air filter

According to the guy who designed LMR's intake they're working on a ram air too, he said it uses some air from the brake duct area.
