Corsa Teaser
It's getting near production. Shots from todays Dyno at Smokies Akron Ohio
Apparently there will be 4 tips, 2 types and 2 colors black and chrome per type:
AND 2 sound levels:
Touring:
And EXTREME!!! Extreme is an understatement.
And yes I saw the numbers and no it is not my place to disclose them. All I can say is for me going with an aftermarket was a good choice!
Next I am going to have Smokie do a custom tune. With that no valves and no V4 mode. And more ponies.... I'll post the numbers in a few weeks.

One sounds sporty and the other mean!
Any idling vids and more importantly any drone at cruising speeds?
And that first set of squarish tips looks funky... I like the angled round ones in your 3rd pic.

Corsa is known for not having any drone so hopefully that will be the case with the C7 systems. And yes, the style in that first pic looks a little strange IMO. I like the tips in the second pic much better.

Not a fan at all of the first set, but that's simply because they need to use a finisher in there - having a grate over two holes is just not right. Hell, I'd pick the two holes without the grate first.
The second set looks more in-line with what we're used to. And the extreme... Ooh buddy - right up my alley!

This must not be complete yet or something, I can't imagine anyone wanting that look.

Burning Brakes
Seems a little odd since I'm presuming the Sports is the most popular option, that it's not being offered...

From what I heard and was told.... no droan at all. I'll let you know next week when I pick the car up. I've not driven it yet.
I'll have the car for a weekend then it's off to Smokies in Akron for a Custom tune. Probably by late March I should have the improved HP numbers to share. I'm not looking for tons of HP or would open up the engine. Just to balance the engine for the open exhaust and to tweet out a few more ponies w/o straining other stock components.
I may have miss labeled the mild mode. Not sure what they are calling it, probably sport and my touring label was wrong. I had my mind made up for the extreme so when they described the base system.... I was not listening. What's in a name anyway.... its the sound!!!
The tips..... all personal. But one new thing the tips are interchangeable. Two clamps, one on each exhaust pipe and the tips slip off thru the back valance. I plan to have both to change out the look. BTW the trumpet versions are 4 1/2 in diameter.

So they are going to offer the sport and the extreme and an X pipe & 4 different tips.
Have not heard the price but I think its like GM said....... If you bought one for the C6 it should be in that neighborhood.
One thing I am doing with the custom tune.....is eliminating the V4 mode and the valves on the exhaust. I am not a fan of valves on an exhaust system. So with the X pipe I will have eliminated the rear cats and the valves and the muffler will be noise cancelling not baffles.
A little more HP a sound I like and a unique look other then the 85% who have NPP.

I got the car back Friday. Drove it an hour home and to work yesterday. So little experience. What's a week in Ohio w/o snow so it's home today.
Getting it in to have a custom tune in the next few days or so, I hope. Corsa says the tune will change the sound and they are anxious to hear what happens.
To be honest not sure about the extremes..... they are loud. They are 4 decibles louder then the Sports and according to Corsa 4 decibles mean a lot. Especially when the car is started and is cold..... the first 30 seconds or so it is loud. But I will see. I started it in a public garage yesterday and by time I had backed up and angled for the exit it had smooth out. Going down the freeway... the C7 must have some great sound insulation. You have to drop the windows to apprecate the sound even going thru underpasses and the like. But man windows down.... its there. In my 6 mile drive home last night 2 guys in the next lane complimented the sound.
Absoluty, positively no DRONE!!!!!!!! So nice to get back to the Corsa I experienced in my C5 and rid of the droan in the NPP in my C6.
I came off the freeway and downshifted into 2nd...... no pop, or bubbling just a smooth even corsa sound.
Frankly I am not sure you can get a sweeter sound. Now after the tune if I can get the pony increase I am hoping for all will be good. Target is +20 HP.
I'll report back with the numbers when I get that done. In the mean time if anyone has questions reach out to me. Not sure what I can do to help ya but I will if I can.
I'm thinking Corsa should be in production by the end of April..... but that is just my guess.
