EDIT TO THE ORIGINAL HOW TO SEAT CONVERSION THREAD AS OF 11-18-2015

The air bags no longer need to be swapped. GM has listed the air bags as the the same part number for both the GT seats and the Comp seats. You will still need to swap the air bag mounting brackets. I have made the edits to the original posts that talk about the air bags.

The first one took about 4 hours but I was shooting pics for the thread and making notes. I did the second one in 2 hours from removal to reinstall.

Hey 48supertruck!
Thanks for taking the time to do this write up.
I just did the seat conversion and used your thread as a guide.
You helped make the job much easier.
Thanks again!

Good to hear the write up helped you. Hopefully I'll have the same success. I'm looking forward to my kit arriving and doing the same.

I am not as active on the forum lately due to being busy at work, so PM me if you have any questions or advice when you are ready to convert your seats. Scott

Holy cow that was more effort than I thought it would be. The instructions are very clear and accurate. The most difficult part, as the OP mentioned, is the seat cover stretching and tucking, and the CF trim bezel. Both ultimately took 4 hands.

One difference between the OP and my seat, there were no clips on the GT seat holding the cover in the groove. My guess is 2015 they changed it a bit.

Moving onto the driver seat, hopefully I can do it faster as others have reported.

You guys made sure you looked in the seat back for the clips right? They do not come out with the leather cover. My late build 2014 had no zip ties but had clips.

Nope.....didn't do that. I haven't installed the seats in the car yet. I'll have to take a look in the GT seat backs to see if they're there.

Just out of curiosity, what are you all doing with the original seat skins/foam? Is there even a market for these things? I really don't have the space to store more boxes, shame to throw them out.

I haven't done anything with them yet. I just put everything in the boxes the other items came in. Not sure if there is a market for them, but they are available if someone is interested. I swapped mine out at 1900 miles. So not much use.
