That smoke is usually more expensive than magic

I would think the motors are pretty robust, seeing they are outside and have a 20 amp fuse running to each pair.

No 'description of operation' for the NPP or AFM valves in the service manual?

No big deal, no hurry for me

I'm going to look around and see if I can find an actuator to play with. Wonder if its a Corvette only part, maybe the '14 trucks with AFM use them..

Part number for you is 22839592.

List is $380, Dealer is $280, Cost is... well... can't put that one here. You can find them for around $250 if you look hard enough.

Oh, and just to save you a bit of time, that part doesn't cross with any other GM application/vehicle in the entire system. Bummer.

Someone posted the muffler assemblies came with the actuators and I can get them for around 600 a side new, which isnt bad if they do come with the actuators.

I'll probably wait for a take off NPP system to pop up..

I'll find an actuator eventually, I wouldnt want to burn up one of yours experimenting.
The muffler spring returns them.

I can confirm that. When the dealer replaced my NPP axle backs (tips misaligned from factory), both the AFM and NPP actuators (and the rear isolator) were installed out of the box.

Why not just pull fuse 41 and the valves are open all the time.

1 should be fine,if it were me at that price I would get 2 just to make sure you have nothing funky going on with back feeding from one valve to another....remember you will also need a little project box to put the circuit board in as well!! You can find them anywhere including radio shack!.

I am going to assume you are ok with the wiring?? If not PM me after you get the module and I can probably put a wiring diagram together for you.I can get the original mild to wild wiring diagram as well.

Okay, I don't think that the ECM and the CCM are general purpose but configured for the car as built.

So I don't think that NPP can be connected to a C7 system that didn't come with NPP.

And so again, I've emailed BB for a custom exhaust that mounts the C6 NPP valves. Really, all I need is a C7 Fusion muffler that mounts the C6 NPP valves. And then those C6 NPP valves could be worked with either a vacuum switch or with a driver's switch.

This idea of C6 NPP muffler valves being different from C7 NPP muffler valves is something we had to debate about a little but there's the idea
.

For now, that is correct - the MDI isn't letting us activate the valve learn on a non-NPP car.

If they can't (or won't) do this, consider QTP or DMH low-profile cutouts. I use these on both of my other cars (even a DD) and they're awesome to have, especially being wireless.

Sadly, they're a lot different in that the C6 had a much easier layout.

Hard to tell without actually having an actuator though

This is straight out of Gm Techlink (all about C7) As I have said and the schematic indicates the signal from the CCM is PWM.....

An exhaust tailpipe flow control valve is installed in each tailpipe in the low restriction exhaust path of the dual outlet muffler, near the exhaust tip. (Fig. 6) When the tailpipe exhaust valves are open, the low restriction exhaust path is opened to the atmosphere and the exhaust note becomes more aggressive.

Fig 6

The Chassis Control Module uses pulse width modulation to control the actuator that opens the valves. To provide a more aggressive exhaust note when the vehicle is started, the valves are opened during engine cranking. There are four specific exhaust performance modes that result in different behavior of the valves:

• Weather/Eco Mode: valves closed at all times when the engine is running.
• Tour Mode: valves closed when the engine is idling and during normal/non-aggressive driving; open during aggressive driving.
• Sport Mode: valves open when the engine is idling and during most driving scenarios.
• Track Mode: valves are open at all times.

TIP: If engine sound enhancement is turned off in the Vehicle Settings menu, the valves will be put into track mode no matter which vehicle mode is displayed on the instrument panel.
