800+ hp!
So, I was finally able to get the C7 back on the original dyno locally at Cincy Speed. Blake and Eddie of Big Dog Performance helped me bring the project to life. James Short at ShorTuning did all of the leg work on the 427 motor tune as well as the initial NOS setup tuning and Tracey from Cincy Speed helped dial in the final tuning since James is a few hours away and I'm impatient and wanted to get to the track tonight.
Here is where the motor tune ended up so far. You can see it's nosing over around 6000RPM. The cam was spec'ed to retard up top to carry the power band, but from everyone I've talked to, we've deduced that the spring pressure on the heads for the NOS is keeping the cam phaser from operating properly. It will hold when commanded at a set point, but if you try to open it mid throttle, it just falls open to the max phase limit and the power falls off. That's pretty disappointing since I'm leaving a lot on the table... 25-50hp easily. Either way, the power over the base Z51 and torque band is broad and the car pulls like a freight train!
It's ran a best of 10.800 at 129.45MPH on motor, but it's been over 130MPH though and still dialing in the tune.
As for the NOS, it's brining the pain with 800+ HP and I made one NOS pass tonight but the trans tune was way off sadly. Shifts were poor and it hung up in 4th at the end so I only picked up 3MPH on the gas. It should've easily been a 9s pass, but that pass will have to wait for next weekend weather permitting For now I'll settle for 10.3 at 133MPH.

Wow. 10.8 on motor with HP left on the table. That gives me whiplash just thinking about it. Thats good enough to take the Z06 in the 1/4 and your not even done. Bravo Ben. Take a bow!

Trans needs some real attention, flaring through shifts and bouncing off rev limiter in 4th through the traps. I do see a little fire on the 2-3 shift

Almost in the 9s!
Awesome night tonight, but the trans is still shifting terribly. Delivered torq is low on the NOS runs, due to the timing being pulled I believe. :toe tap: Still working on that part.
First run was 10.26 at 120.5MPH, had to let out of it because the *** end got light - wish I could've stayed in this one!
Second run was 10.17 at 140.2MPH, less than 1/10th difference and 20MPH?! haha
Last run was 10.13 at 139MPH
60' 1.44
1/8th 6.58 at 107MPH
1/4th 10.13 at 138.97MPH
Looks like I'm still wearing this shirt for the weekend lol

Oh, not you, too... It seems like everybody has the damned grilles now... my overpriced, broken eBay one was still sitting in the box until last week. Should have capitalized on that and sold it months ago!

Dewitts Radiator - C7 prototype radiator
MORE INFO ABOUT RELEASE SOON:
http://weaponx-c7.myshopify.com/prod...nx-c7-radiator
DeWitt Radiator's DIRECT FIT™ Corvette aluminum radiators are designed to install into the stock mounting and use the factory connections without any modifications or adapters. The term DIRECT FIT™ gets thrown around a lot today. Many companies offer replacement radiators and most of them require some alterations, even when they claim they fit. Each DIRECT FIT™ radiator starts with a USA made core, furnace brazed in our own furnace. Our cores feature two rows of cooling tubes, serpentine fin and they are epoxy free. Press formed end tanks are manually tig welded by expert craftsmen, providing the ultimate in strength and appearance. Many companies build Corvette radiators, only one specializes in it.
