Identify this part
On the passenger side of the inlet to the intake manifold, just behind the throttle body, there is a part that screws onto the intake. It has a small electrical connector and what looks like a PCV hose with a quick disconnector on it. What exactly is its purpose?

Purge solenoid sounds like an appropriate description.

See the horizontal nipple pointing to the passenger side, just behind the throttle body.
If that's what it is, what is it purging?

Is the evap equipment located in the passenger side rear wheel well? It is pushing my wheel well liner out and rubbing the tire when I make a hard right.
