Z51 cooling rings...any use ???
I am nearly in possession of my C7 Z51.
We plan to autocross the car, and maybe do some road racing.
Are the cooling rings of any benefit?
Do they really make a difference?
Thanks

If I'm on a track with few elevation changes and turns that are easy on brakes, I might consider leaving them off.
That said, have you looked at the prep you must do before and after track sessions. This could preclude many from tracking their C7.

Been Road racing for quite a few years in our C5 and C6.
Thanks for the info re the cooling rings,
As you said, if GM didn't think they were useful/helpful, they wouldn't have
provided them.

If you are going to track the car I would highly recommend using the rings. I did not used them on a light track day and warped my rotors. Now I have been using them and my rotors have been fine. In fact I have kept them on during all street driving and have not notice any issue in doing that.

No corrosion or rusting whatsoever?
The instructions that came with them were very specific about removing them for street use to avoid this. Hmmm.

From what I understand the real reason that they tell you not to leave them on is so that they don't come loose. Since they are only held in place by the cables, the rings or cables could come loose over time and, if something came off while driving, it could be "bad".
