X-pipe w/o cats?
Will LT headers with the X pipe without cats throw a CEL? I wouldn't think so since the O2 sensor is on the headers. Would their be an advantage on the street with flow or don't even think about going this route?

no advantage to removing cats anymore unless you are boosted and making big power. the 80s are long gone.

Even if you have CATs, the LTs might still throw a code due to the repositioning of the O2 sensors further from the heat source of the engine exhaust headers.

Edit the ECM program to ignore the codes and not flash a code. No other way.
This is the list for an LS1. http://www.ls2.com/forums/showthread...amp-LS1EDIT&s= I would imagine a very similar list for our LT1s too.

Will just putting in a second x-pipe in place of the 2nd set of resonators/cats throw the CEL? Or what about replacing the 2nd set of resonators/cats with just straight pipes on back till the factory x-pipe, will that throw on the CEL?
I would really appreciate great info as i am wondering why just installing the corsa double helix x-pipe doesnt throw on the CEL? How is that any different than just welding in a 2nd pipe in place od the 2nd set of resonator/cats.
Also i am looking to get something like this done to make the car louder than the NPP system already is, thanks.

anything you do to the cats or in front of the cats is going to throw a cel and require a tune. anything that bolts onto the back of the cats or anywhere behind them is going to be fine for no tune.
arh mid length headers claim to reduce the chance of a cel, and they pretty much work but they are a compromise.

If you remove the CATs, you'll get a code.
If you Use LTs and move the CATs away from the engine, you'll get a code.
If you move the rear O2s away from the engine, you'll get a code.
If you do anything to the front O2s you'll get a code.
Usually, people that get LTs, get a tune to put the codes to sleep for the CATs and the rear O2 sensors. If you get LTs, usually you go !CATs UNLESS you have a visual inspection for emissions certification.
The front O2s are usually left undisturbed as they are used to adjust the AF.
My 2007 had LTs, !CATS and NPP. It was glorious for sound. I could open/close the NPP via a sunvisor button. It also had a SC on it which improved things quite a bit! With that being said, the tune put all the offending codes to sleep.
