Default My supercharged C7 is shockingly light

Today at raceway park official car scale my car went in the scale with the following mods:

C7 Z51 Package/2lt package M7 tranny
ECS supercharger 1500 head unit
Alkey single nossel meth injection kit
ARH long tube/ high flow cats
LMR Breather
HRE P101 wheels
Toyo R888 265f/315r

My car scaled in at 3405 pounds with a little more than a quarter of a tank.

I was warned not to run under 11.5 so I had one real shot and it ran 11.13 @ 129.6mph lots of wheel spin shifting to second gear

Your right it's not a 10 second car till it runs a 10's. Based on the wheel hop shifting to aggressively into second and the 92 degree weather this car definetly has a mid to high 10 second run in her.

You're mods sound like what I'm planning to do to mine if I don't get the new Z06. Im looking to purchase a Procharger kit, AR headers, and LMR catch can with a tune. Possibly HRE Wheels later… My question is, would you recommend this setup for a daily driven car? I love the gas milage now so I drive my car daily to work. With these mods I don't want to ruin the drivability of my car. Never taken it to a track but with these mods maybe I will get out there. Its more of brag gin rights and for show when I pop my hood at local carshow events. Thanks!

Thank you. For a while there I thought Higgs was channeling JoesC5.

Nah, I just think it's silly when people are like, "Oh well with a tailwind it would be this, or with different tires it would be that.

Yeah with longer legs I would be taller. With a bigger engine my car could make more HP. If my face was different I could be good looking.

Did it run a 10? Or did it run an 11? Even in pro categories, in order to set a record, you need a back up run. That means if the record is 9.99 and you run a 9.98....you still don't have the record until you do it again, typically twice in a row.

So with that said, how is an 11.13 a 10 second car?

The only pass I give to correction factor excuses is if you live in Colorado or El Paso or New Mexico or on some other mountain. If you are below 2000 feet and it's summer time.....well, that's why I am waiting until February to run the 1/4, because what's the point? You sweat outside at midnight.

R888s? 129mph?

That will run 10s all day long on a drag radial, which, unlike an engine, is something that people will swap out for test and tune at the track. Guaranteed. Don't pay attention to Captain Pedantic up there. I get the sense he doesn't know much about drag racing.

I have the same mods of the OP. car runs like stock in the lower RPM range. But once you hit WOT you better hang on and yes your car will go straight. My car now has 11,000 miles on her and the only problem that I have is a strange rattle in the 1500 RPM range and I think it's coming from the tranny I will put her on the lift tonight and take a look.

lol. yeah, nothing at all.....

I am well aware of how tires can affect ET.....except if you want to claim that ET, you better run those tires. A motor isn't the only component in a race car. It takes the whole combination.

Here's my 2001 Z06 with headers and a 100 shot or 150 shot, can't remember:

You just think it runs like stock! I'm running less HP than you and it much quicker than stock at any RPM!

So with a full tank it would weigh about 3488lb or 36lbs less than a C7 Z06. Not sure some would consider that shockingly light.

I'm shocked!!

Ok, no I'm not. I would be shocked if it was 2800lbs though.

Base car is 3290 lbs anyways, I'm not at all surprised.
