Default Corsa X Pipe and stock NPP

I was wondering if anyone has installed a corsa x pipe with the stock NPP.

I have confirm the x pipe will bolt right in, just wondering if anyone has any personal experience.

Interested also.

Given the stock NPP and you drop in the double helix and remove resonators, increase flow... will that make the NPP louder / more aggressive without having to go after a tune with headers and/or $1700 to $2000 in replacing the NPP with a new muffler system that may or may not have issues with the valves.

For guys with a NPP, this could be a nice, quick, simple approach to getting more aggressive sound out of the NPP investment.

Yep, quick, simply and cheap considering the x pipe is only around 570 bucks !

I have a local friend with the corsa x pipe / extreme and will compare with the corsa x pipe and stock NPP

This sounds interesting. It appears like NOT cutting is involved either for installing JUST the X pipe, versus the whole system? According to Corsa's specs., it appears like there is more gain with replacing the X pipe, when compared with the cat-back in relation with the NPP. Surprisingly, there is not much weight difference between the systems.

Make sense if you already have the Npp. The Corsa X-pipe probably enhances the sound for the Npp. Now the question is....does the X-pipe make the car sound like the Corsa muffler system?

Leaving HP discussion out of this, Corsa lists the double helix as having a 20% better flow than stock and assuming it eliminates stock resonators the expectation should be a bump in aggressive sound in the stock NPP. Sound like Corsa Extremes; probably not. More aggressive than a stock NPP; I would think so. Quality of that sound will be a question but, if the NPP sounds better after mid-length header change only....

I have stock NPP with Corsa X, with valves closed its still very very quite its nice pulling into the neighborhood at night, with the valves open it is a bit louder but not outrageously louder, however it does smooth out the tone nicely and give it a deeper growl. Sounds much better under WOT as well but i would say idle noise is only 15% louder, but keep in mind i do have ARH mid length headers, granted they are catted and not full length but they do add to noise. Then again my G8 was lound and aggressive (BORLA cat back with longtubes no cats) so im used to a loud car

Also before people ask, I installed headers and x pipe 3k miles apart, so im comparing before and after x pipe only. Add some headers and the npp gets plenty loud however im waiting of AKRA to release their exhaust and i may end up tossing the NPP

Has anyone ONLY installed the corsa x-pipe with the factory NPP system while keeping the stock headers? I would like to know if this type of setup would throw any CEL codes?

Also i am trying to fabricate a duplicate version of the corsa double helix xpipe by installing a magnaflow xpipe in place of the resonators, but really wanted to know if any one has done this before and kep stock NPP system and stock headers?

Please advise back good info, thanks

Would this just increase the sound or is there any power gains too?

I have the stock headers with the NPP exhaust and may also be interested .

I was told the HP increase increase around 10hp, but sound in TR is 25 % louder with a deeper tone . My unit shipped this week and should have it installed by next weekend

Yup mainly deeper tone and sound. Has anyone installed the corsa full cat back exhaust with the double helix xpipe and had issues with the CEL codes coming up?

Since the exhaust changes are post monitored set of cats, not changing the headers or the monitored cats, you would hope no codes are thrown but, actual confirmation would be nice.

................

Please verify:

1. Bolt on Corsa x-pipe, no cutting or modifications needed to stock exhaust?
2. Will not produce any engine codes?
3. Tuning not required?
4. Will work on the NPP performance exhaust?
5. Sound and seat of the pants difference in performance?

If it does work I see a lot of these being ordered?
