Default 2015 C7 Z51 A8 Dyno numbers!!!

We picked up our 2015 A8 yesterday, so naturally we put it on the Dyno!!
We are going to start the modifications today with a set of ARH long tubes w/cats & a tune, so stay tuned for more. The baseline #'s were 408 RWHP & 397 RWT.

We will be making a Twin Turbo Kit for this car in the coming months!!

Interesting, what would be a good "average" stock HP/TQ that is "repeatable" as opposed to a cool motor? Most folks operate their cars and WARM/HOT numbers are more meaningful IMHO.

Thanks for posting.

Cool motor = more power

need to increase cooling to take advantage of power potential - or run e85

This is why I don't pay any attention to chassis dyno results. They are not performed with a controlled protocol as is an engine dyno test to SAE specs.

Some say don't pay attention to the actual numbers(and that sounds reasonable) but to the increase in HP/torque after any Mods are done.

So, in this example say you do a base line run and get 408 HP and then you install a different air filter element and while you are doing that the engine cools down. Now you do another run and get 423 HP. WOW, now you can claim a 15 HP increase just by changing from the stock factory air breather element to a Fram paper filter(used for illustration purposes only) when in actuality, the change in the air filter element had nothing to do with the power increase..

Good point, especially when seeing a 20 hp difference with a cooler motor on a stock pull. Would love to know the operating temp - these cars run 220 - getting them down to 190 under load would add some hp for sure

All good points, especially about not worrying too much about the "numbers" of dyno results, We try and make it a point to match conditions (as best as possible) after modifications to see the actual pick up of the part being installed. basically just wanted to show an A8 on the dyno and what people should expect as far as results. our first baseline pull it made the 409 and the temps, were around 210° F we let her cool to 180°f when we picked up to 423. BTW The 2015 with the A8 has a 2.73 rear gear with the Z51 option, and 1:1 on the transmission is 6th gear. on a loaded Dyno (like our mustang) its a pretty long pull!!

Additionally, Mustang dynos usually read 2 to 3% lower than dynojets.

It says the second pull was after a cool down. There is another graph 2 days later after mods.
