Default Blowing oil after Supercharger install.

I just had a ecs kit put on my car and now its blowing oil out of the dry sump reservoir when its in boost. It is pressurizing the system and blowing out of the vent hose. It is set up to where we only have one vent now but its still doing it. I ordered the baffled cap off of elite engineering hoping that it resolves the issue, only problem is i cant get ahold of them. I placed my order over a week ago and it hasnt shipped yet. Is there any other way of resolving this issue without doing the lmr breather system?

Sounds like a check valve is checking very well!

I have a issue as well with the oil. I have an A&A kit! Mine gets in the intake and blows out the BOV.
Mine had this in the intake before the kit was put on! I bought an Elite cap and found the fit was less than good due to no room to tighten it could only half tightened at best. Then oil came through it anyway.

^^^So what have you done to remedy the situation? I thought that A&A, ECS, and Procharger had resolved these venting issues, without having to get an aftermarket catch can on moderately boosted applications (7 - 8 PSI)?

Doug,

Can you disclose what was the OPs problem...and how did you correct it? I would like to avoid that issue when I install mine.

Thanks, Mariano (Alfie)

Doug,

Now that I have my S/C installed, I think I have this problem also. Oil on garage floor under air filter area, but I'm not sure of the exact point of leak. Hard to detect without a hoist.

I looked to see if you sent me a PM as per your post dated 9/16...couldn't find it. Perhaps I'll call you for your help to resolve this. That would more timely than PMing.

Default Interested in your fix Doug.

I too would be interested in what you have as for a fix Doug. I've been wondering how much I have to burp to get it to stay dry. They came out with keeping oil level bottom 1/4 of hash mark. I've been making small changes to find a combo that works. Would be interested in your fix for sure. Thanks

Lower the reservoir level to the lower hash mark. I also capped the reservoir vent. No more oil spills via the BOV! ECS apparently returns PCV hoses to the air inlet box with good results? I also didn't care for Procharger's BOV location so re-routed BOV outlet via
hose to the main air inlet filter general area to mitigate any residual oil fumes.

Hey guys been fighting the same battle with the oil issue. Ls3 and ls7 Supercharged never had any oil anywhere. Not in my experience.

interesting you put a big hose on a BOV outlet?

I think many of the Supercharged C7's and stock C7's have the problem to some extent. I think many many Z51's have the dry sump issue. But it is hidden unless you get so much it appears.

Other wise you don't know till you take the intake bellow off and pour OIL out if any is there out.

I would tune for no more than 10-11 degree's of timing and then you should be at 550-570 rwhp.

Not sure I have on mine I have not redyno'd yet.

My oiling slowed down a lot. (Hopefully has stopped)
with less timing from 13 to 11 degree's. The Lt1 likes less timing my car runs better with LESS timing.

Oil under the filter box means the oil has pushed out the valve cover in to the air filter. Needs completely taken apart and cleaned out.
Better that than straight back into the intake.
I would check my timing at least.

When oil gets in the intake it causes more oiling as the oiling is from
2 causes the dry sump vent and the detination from lack of octane in the fuel Ie not enough and caused by the oiling getting there in the first place.

Or the tune can be too hot and not enough octane.

Did this take care of the gas smell in the cabin?
Thanks,
Jim

Yes. No more oily blowby and no odor. I credit the lowered reservoir level and
capping the reservoir vent as the responsible fix. Plumbing the BOV outlet
to the vicinity of the blower air inlet filter, provided easily visible evidence
of any oily blowby fumes. So far, so good.

So you have no vent on the dry sump reservoir any more? Wouldn't you need at least one vent? I did the ecs routing and it worked for a little bit and now it leaking oil from the other side (drivers). I would assume its blowby coming out of the bov but i havnt had it up on a lift yet to check.
