The OEM manifolds have been flow tested and they're working on the porting. All the data will be posted once they're satisfied with the final product. Then we'll move on to the dyno testing portion!

We have about 50-75 sets of stock manifolds, let me know if you want to purchase all in bulk?

PM for info.

Thanks,

LMR

I will say the OEM manifold flow is very imbalanced between runners.

EXTRUDE HONING is another method of getting the insides smooths as silk and also getting the most out of the internal porting. Remove the big stuff with a burr and then extrude hone the rest. After you get the porting square, the coating will be the frosting on the cake. My coated headers made a world of difference on my 02 ZO6 as far as a major reduction in temps under the hood.

I don't have a C7 but, I'm still very interested in the results of this project.

I too am lurking here to see what innovative ideas pop up. Extrude honing will not correct for unequal length runners. It works best on "cast" manifolds. I read somewhere in the massive amounts of LT4 pre-production articles that the exhaust manifolds were being made of sheet stainless steel. Just sayin.

My guess is Chevy uses cast stainless steel for the LT4 exhaust manifolds; probably will be a good upgrade for the LT1 once the Z06 guys start ditching them in favor of stainless steel tubular headers. That would be another good test for the future...ported LT1 manifolds vs. ported LT4 manifolds

Update on my current project:
My shop is working on perfecting the porting on each runner to not only increase the flow, but also balance it.

Cool! Keep us posted with your progress. Hope you are right about the SS casting too.

Cool. Now let's get on with the porting and coating. Look forward to seeing some Dyno results.

The results are in! I have the flow charts, and while I'm compiling all the details, here is what we found:

-Average flow improvement of 13.8%
-Runner imbalance reduced from 7% to <1%

Coming, have to get them on my car first The data we have so far is what we found on the flowbench. Real-world dyno testing will be next.
