Default 2014 Manual Transmission Trouble

My 2014 C7 with 7 speed manual transmission grinds when shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to third when cold. After the fluid warms the problem stops.

I took it to the dealer at 500 miles and again yesterday at 2800 mi. According to GM, this is normal. However I'm not convinced.

Has anyone else encountered this issue. I'm afraid the grinding will eventually cause chips that will eventually lead to tranny failure.

Thoughts?

Paul

Common issue that has been posted several times. Consensus is that there are possible issues with the syncros; especially with 1st to 2nd.

My 14' had no issues in any gears even in sub zero temperatures.

In my 15' I've "missed" 2nd once or twice. My 15' trans seems a lot stiffer and better.

no matter how I shift, aggressive, gentle, rev match on or off it still grinds. GM tech is also able to duplicate the issue. They have reported it to the factory. No solution at this time.

mine had a similar issue although your appears to be more pronounced. My dealer had a field engineer come and check it out. He ended up adjusting something in the shifter assembly...made a huge difference. Not a single grind ever since. It is a common thing in the new corvettes and most of them need to be just adjusted or calibrated. Your dealer can call mine to inquire. PM me and I will give you more details.

Mine is poor in sub 50 degree weather till it warms up.

During the summer months perfect.

Was like that new and like that with 10k miles.
