Upgraded 2015 tires Z07
Morning all was looking for some advise from an experienced crowd. My shop does a fair amount of performance work mainly Ford Raptors, Mustangs turbo'd rice rockets (700 HP Scion 4 cyl).
A very good customer of ours with a 2014 Corvette Z51 Stingray automatic, which we just fitted with rear mounted twin sealed ceramic bearing turbos Comp Turbo's . Fun project and you don't even know those to babies are there.
My question is this, the run flat tires sux on the car with the amount of HP this baby is putting to the ground. Ive been looking at Toyo T1R,
R888 and the Michelins that are on the 2014 Z 07. My studies show that they widened the body on the 2015 so I dont believe the upgrade to the Front 285/30 ZR 19 Rear 325/25 ZR 20 Michelin's will work? Anyone try this set up? I'm open for suggestions and experineces with all you true Corvette ethusiast and me not try and reinvent the wheel. This customer is a great guy and I have loved this project, so I want the best for him.
PS I did join on a gold level, dont want to be a free loader Thank you all in advance

So now in speaking to Discount Tire ..there performance guy said the bigger tires on the 2015 will work on the 2014 ?? Not sure with out hearing from someone that actually worked at close to 1500.00 smacks in tires.
Not to mention I cant find and Michelin Super Sports in a 285/30ZR20 so far either.

So no one has tried to upgrade to the Michelin Tires that are on the 2015 Corvette's with Z07 package. I'm concerned that the tires will be to wide since they widened the fenders and qtrs.

You can fit 375 wide tires in back with the correct wheel width and offset.
You definitely cannot fit the Z07 package tire on a Z51/base wheel without any other modifications.
You need new wheels, and then you can fit the Z07 package tires to the base car.
They are 335 or 345 wide?

You need more than new wheels. To fit 335's to the base car!
Everything sounds wrong!

Yes, they make a 375 wide tire, and they tuck under the base car. Several people have put up to 375 wide tires on the base/Z51. It has already been done.
New wheels with the correct offset and appropriate width will accommodate the Z06/Z07 tires and fit on the base car with no issues. You may need to remove the rear fender well vent tube to clear, but it definitely works.

Given it's a 20" wheel, you'd be pushing it with a 305. You need at least an 11" wheel to fit a 315/30/20 or whatever the correct sidewall is, and even then an 11.5 is more ideal for a 315 with a short sidewall.

375's on the back and 335's for the full effect! :rof l:
Of slow *** ruin the ride rub heavy too big tires! The factory size is always best!
The shocks and wheels and tire sizes are made together!
Some would put a 345 on a Zo6 that took 325.
the 325 is better!

People that add those have no idea !
Lot of weight and too much tire!
Add those and you bought OBSOLETE! 1000 miles later when they are in for sale and NO one will want them.
But maybe a 17 yr old with a C7 dad bought.
Slow your car down big time. I hope you buy some!

Just because you remove the brake duct to add them. Doesn't mean they fit or they are right for the car.
Maybe my posting will keep someone from a wrong move.
They don't make the tires for the Corvette.
Drive in to the dealer and tell them you want these on your C7.
They won't do it. Your car is made for the factory size.
Your car will be terrible with these WRONG wheels and tires.
Extreme look oh yeah at a PRICE! Extremely bad for the car yes!
All performance will be gone!
You want the slowest stock C7 on the road. Put them on your car!
