2015 8 speed Bone stock 11.52 @ 121 mph

Scraping the splitter.
Averages? Norms?
So simply because NOT ALL Corvettes have run these ETs, that means Snorman's or Brent's times don't count?
Lots of attempts to land on the moon have failed.
So does this mean that the achievements of those that HAVE landed on the moon are moot? LOL
And Brent's car is a 2LT, the A8 trans weighs roughly 8 pounds less than the A6.
I'd bet that Snorman's and Brent's cars are well within 25 pounds of each other with identical fuel levels in them.

But you're completely wasting your time trying to explain these things or use logic.

You have cherry picked the best of the years of posted C6Z times. The 11.52 is the only A8 time I've seen recorded. Chill and give it a few years. You will see the gap closed there rather profoundly. Unlikely that the C7 Stingray at this power level will ever trap in the high 120s.

But even 122/123mph is still pretty damn impressive for a stock/'base engined' Corvette.
If they ever increase the power of the LT1 (possible) or come out with a lighter weight track package of some sort (unlikely) then maybe it could possibly go quicker/faster of course.

The best time I've seen for a C7 with a A6 is 11.49. Just how much lower do you think a C7 with an A8 is going to run? Maybe .1-1.5 better than the A6, but not .5 better. To get into Z06 territory it has to be in the tens.
Even then you are comparing a car with decade old tire technology installed against a car with the latest tire technology. Tires are disposable items. How quick do you think a C6 Z06 will run with Michelin PSS tires instead of crappy Goodyear tires?
I consider a car equipped with the newest tire technology not modified as long as the tires meet the same requirement.

I replied to your comment that 11.52 was C6 Z06 territory, which it clearly is not.

Hey Pal, do you think a A8 is going to run a half second better ET than a A6? Do you not understand that 11.49 is not the s-l-o-w-e-s-t time recoded for a A6?

That's fine Dude, you obviously have this all figured out and set in your mind. You will see this one and only 1st stat for an A8 bettered, you can bet your life on that. Enjoy!

Also need more runs with the a8...what will it do broken in? You could also say the fastest time hasn't been seen with the a6 now that they are getting more miles...
Way to early to say for sure yet imo...I can say the A8's I've driven exceeds the A6's on the subjective scale for me though. Not sure if it would be enough for me to trade up on a 15 c7 if I had a 14 but I did trade up like that for a pick-up last year.

Does it compare to the BEST C6 Zo6 time...............certainly not. To say its not in C6 Z06 territory though, is a bit of a stretch. If you simply inserted his time on the C6 Z06 fast list, it would currently be 14th out of 38 cars............I'd say that's in the same territory.

I don't think there is enough data to determine all the virtues/non virtues of the a8. There is much more than just 1/4 miles times. An example could be yes it's .1 quicker in the 1/4 but its .5 quicker to 80 or say it has a quicker or slower time 50 to 80 etc...

I think the A8 will have less flat spots during daily driving, but with this power I can't really complain about flat spots.
I think the A8 will be great in passing situations, much better chance of being in the right gear at the right rpm or downshifting to it.

Just remember guys......the C6Z06 trap speed is around 124/125 on the average. I have observed quite a few on the track. Almost all of the time, it's going to take some driver's skill in order to get some low ET's. Even 11.50's are not that easy but the trap speed is always there. If an C6 Z06 gets out of the hole without breaking the tires severely a C7 A8/A6 can kiss it good bye. I have seen several C6
Z06's struggle trying to break into the 11's.....however it did occur to me that it was a combination of the driver and the vehicle set up. Having said that, I would say that the C7's are not in the C6Z06 territory.......simple as that the C6 Z06 has more horsepower. Put the power on the ground and the C6 Z06 would win every time. And that's what some of the members don't understand.

I am going to wait to run it until then and go bone stock but with a tune and sticky tires....(since I already jacked with the tune no one will believe me that I ran it stock).....so if i am bumped to bolt ons, might as well put some tires on it!

Just to clarify Brent.
In the pic you have Z51 wheels, not sure if they are 18/19 repros with base tires, or actual Z51 wheels/tires (or ZF1).
Reason I ask is I have had no luck with the base 18/19 tires at any of the local tracks. I dont want to invest 1000.00+ in a set of drag radials/wheels to make a couple passes, but if you are on the base tires I may take a trip to BG and see how it does, just hate to drag it 230 miles one way to spin the tires

It's definitely not the track for street tires.....drag tires do ok though (usually).
