Where to get a 170 degree T-stat?
I would like to get a 170 degree thermostat for my car, does anyone know where I can get one? I am only interested in a t-stat itself and do NOT want to spend $300 for a pretty housing etc. also, must be 170 degree. 160 is colder than I want to run. Thanks

Does the car run on the t-stat temp now? If it doesn't then dropping isn't going to make the car magically run 160 or 170, it will just make the car take longer to warm up to operating temp.

A cooler thermostat will help lower the running temps, but one should definitely also run a radiator to get the full effect. A 160 with a radiator will run around 170-180.

The LMR one isn't your $40 drop in t stat, but they do have the market cornered right now with a nice product. The LT1 t stat is COMPLETELY different and I've talked to several vendors and none of them have any plans to make a new style anytime soon for whatever reason. Surprising since the trucks and C7s both have a high production run.
You can set the temps in the tune to turn to whatever you want. The car only sees temps that low on interstate in colder temps. At the drag strip it was hovering around 180-185. Before it was hovering around 210ish. You need to change the tune to really take advantage of this because your fans are commanding to run over 207 if I recall. So, if you drop this in, you will get the benefit of your temps being cooler but the fans won't take action till it's too hot and then they would kick back off too soon.
