Z51 & Z06 500 mile initial oil change officially required
This was posted in the C7 Z06 forum, but some may not have seen it so I thought I would post it here as well. GM has put out an official service document stating that all C7 dry sump cars need an oil change after the first 500 miles of use because some cars may have the anti-foaming properties of the initial oil fill degraded by the silicone sealants used as gaskets in the Z51 and Z06 dry sump systems.
Bulletin indicates this info will be in the 2015 owner's manuals starting January 2015. So if you are past 500 miles on your Z51, take it to the dealer for the first oil change. GM has now changed the policy to add 1 free oil change bringing total up to 5 for the dry sump cars. Turns out I changed my own oil to 15W50 for the track at 1500 miles, so I am good!

I took mine to the dealer a few months ago to have the oil changed after 500 miles and they told me GM will only cover the oil change after 1500 miles. I told them that I always change my oil after 500 miles to clean the engine debris out of a new engine, so I had to pay to have the first oil changed. It about time GM steps up.
