Default Anyone running forged internals?

I put on an ECS supercharger an meth kit I'd say back in April. I have about 10k miles on the car and am going to do the next step and add a cam and AR headers. Who here have also installed forged pistons and rods?

Also who is running in the +700 rwhp range and have not changed out the piston and rods?

I'm on the fence on what to do, or at what point is it necessary to start reinforcing the internal components.

Yes, I have Mahle dished 2618 pistons, Callies forged stroker crank and Callies forged I beam rods. You don't "need" to do it until you burn up your motor, however you may save your block, not catch your car on fire, etc. if you do it as a preventative measure. I think as long as your meth system is working well just run it and make sure to have a fire extinguisher.

I can tell you from experience that "Murphy" can and will strike when you least expect it. In my case it would have much more convenient and less stressful had I just opted for a full build to begin with. I agree with Robert that you will not know you need it until it's to late.

Sgooch, can I ask what happened? What have you done to your car modification wise?

Lots of motors being hurt by crappy tuners... We've already built numerous strokers for guys with hurt motors. The good news is built shortblock TSP lt1 engines have already made way over 1000hp.

I decided to go ahead and build the motor. Going to do a 416 stroker with cam, and 2" ARH, and removing the restrictor.

Better safe than sorry.
