Crabby,
many user reviews on that 803 E-Prance say the unit has many "issues"....
poor plastic construction (deforms in 70 deg F heat),
mount is poor,
stops/starts randomly,
can't stop it on demand... must wait till battery dies,
etc.,
etc.
I think I will look at another manufacturer.

I tossed it too. No GPS speed I wanted a tad more information on screen.

Buckeye,
how did you hard-wire them ?
Any details, pix, etc. ?
And, what app is that?
Does it include GPS logging for position and speed ?
Of course it can't include RPM, Accel, Brake, etc.,
unless you could add-on a OBDII dongle to transmit to camera, and the camera would have to
accept/record that info too.
I'm trying to think out of the box here.

So I guess you had to snake the wire from the kick panel, up the window pillar,
and across the front of the windshield to the center ?
How was it to remove the trim pieces to snake the wire ?

Yep, run the cables around the panels and yes a little scary but I have the plastic trim removal tools.

I have recorded excellent HD video at Spring Mountain and on the Tail of the Dragon using an 808 #16 (under $50). The camera is the size of a key fob and uses a micro SD card. I don't know of a way to record performance data with it. I use a suction cup phone mount to mount it to the windshield below the mirror and a USB cable to the console power outlet.

I want Cosworth/GM to provide a package for us 2014 C7's to add PDR,
but in the mean time this will have to do. Gives good video for evidence and GPS/Speed/Video when I want it.
For about $110 I couldn't be more pleased.
A118 camera w/GPS module.
In this test the first 18 wheeler almost takes out the SUV in the left lane.

OK. I just had a "Come to Jesus" meeting at my local dealer's parts department. I ordered the cover for the PDR camera for $33. I always like to have a spare when I might be cutting up an original part. I planned on pulling down the cover and gaining access to the camera area of the PDR. Well, it seems that the convertible does not come apart. To get to the PDR space, you must remove the entire header molding with the two courtesy lights from around the mirror stem all the way out to the edge of the sunvisor mounts to gain access to the area where the PDR sits. The part that WAS $33 actually is over $200 to have as a backup piece. HOLY CRAP!!!!!!
It looks like I'll get a pro to do the install and I will have to mount the camera upside down to sit in the space. There are support pieces that stop the camera from being allowed to stick out slightly toward the passenger side in order to get to the Mini SD card and operate a couple of functions via buttons on the end of the camera. This may discourage me from hiding the camera and simply mounting it up high in front of the mirror.
I need to mull this information over for a tad. My plan to hide the camera in the PDR space has come apart at the seams. DRAT!
