Default Accident, then severe rear wheel hop.

I drove my C7 (Z51, MSRC) off a high curb at about 15 mph. I just didn't see it. The car took a pretty good blow. The right rear quarter quarter panel was pulled loose in front of the rear bumper and peeled forward about 30°. The strip under the passenger door was scraped clean of paint the entire length of the door. It took two bottles of touch paint to cover it up. Now I have severe rear wheel hop at low speed. I get on the gas in first and second at up to 25 mph and the rear wheels hop up and down violently. I can't put the power to the ground. I figure something must be broken in the rear suspension. My local Chevy dealer has had the car for a whole day and can't find the problem. I gave my service writer a ride yesterday morning, so he understands the nature of the problem. Any ideas?

Driving glasses?

If it that bad your dealer shouldn't have an issue finding it.

How about a bent wheel.

This is getting really frustrating. The dealer had my car for three days and doesn't have a clue. I can't put power to the ground.

It's got to be the wheel out of round, they might be looking for a bend in the wheel.

My guess the wheel now is oval

Have them rotate the wheel with a dial indicator on the rim. That is the only way to determine if the wheel remains round.

Have them measure the rear end to see if it remains square with respect to the center line of the car.

Have them rotate the real wheels under engine power while the car is up on a 4-post lift and watch what is going on.

IF everything "looks" ok (ie. nothing stands out as broken), why not start with something basic as checking to see that the alignment is still in spec and that all wheels are balanced.
