A very good friend of mine is a phenominal machinist. He said that if we can't find a vendor to supply those we need he will make them. He too is in the process of buying a new Z06 and can readily see the merits of these tools. We just have to see if some vendor will "step up" or not.

Subscribed.

I want these. They're just what I've been looking for, but couldn't find the right size.

I have discussed these with Fred at ReverseLogic. He sells these tools for many different applications and is in the process of making them available in the correct size for the Corvette.

I expect to receive a set in a week or two and will post an update at that time.

Cool Lt1XL82, lets encourage Fred to consider a "group buy" with an "introductory" great price. I also like the idea of stainless steel.

Reverse logic already has them up on their website. $32.00 a pair in stainless steel.

I underestimated the completion date for the tools and I listed them in my online catalog because I thought they would be ready on 30-Jan. I expect to ship the tools on Friday, 6-Feb. I will also add an option to purchase a three pack.

OK. Let's get a group buy up and running. I'd be in for two pairs. From their web site, they look shorter than 6" but I'm in anyway.

Okay Fred, your move. How about a forum group price?

Put me down for your first three piece set. Make an offer I can't refuse.

The tools are 117mm long. If I make them any longer I need to change the length of the storage case and the minimum order quantity for the storage case is 12000 units since they are a non-standard diameter.

I did change the online catalog to allow purchase of the tools individually since it appears that some people may want to use three tools at a time. Quantity three (3) or more brings the price to $15/tool.

If you just raise the car till the tire just comes off the ground.

Pull it straight off to remove. Then slide shimmy the tire back in place.

Slight lift back on. I handle carbon brakes like that and really no sweating about touching the rim to disc. Swap wheels a lot!

I ended up designing two shop tools which have really helped. The first was a Wheel & Tire Lift which mounts to a floor jack and has rollers allowing the wheel to be turned to align with the wheel lugs and at the right height. Attached is a picture of what it looks like.

The second is what I called "Wheel Stud Extenders". I hadn't found anything like what I had in mind but now see that those weren't a new idea. Sure would have been easier to purchase this tool rather than having them machined. For anyone who may want to make their own I've attached the dimensions I used when having them made.

Below is a picture of both in use:

I can attest to how well both of these shop tools work and definitely think they would be of help making wheel mounting easier.

Man,really ingenious. Some of you cats are amazing. I would really like to have both of those especially the one for the jack. How would I go about getting that? Great ideas!
