Heads, cam, LT's-Who's done it?
DRM (Doug Rippie) has a head/cam/LT package and are claiming 590 at the crank. I really like the idea of naturally aspirated for these reasons: less heat/heat soak, love the sound of a cam, I think the N/A power is going to be more usable then a blower, less strain on the motor, no added weight to the car... Rippie's shop is 20 minutes from my house and has built two other cars for me.
Anyone done a package like this? What kind of results, how did the car drive (mine is a M7), will the stock tires hold this when warm???
Tks, Doug

Heads can is no problem at all. We've made well over 600hp with heads cam combos on the engine dyno.
we have heads can combos in stock and have shipped all over the world.
The overall hp numbers completely depends on your car & goals. Give us a call and we can discuss options.

Jason,
Thanks for the information. Good to see that kind of power available with a pretty easy N/A upgrade. How does this package work on the street...

Be nice to hear from someone who has some miles on a H/C/LT set up. How is the torque curve? Can the stock rubber hold the power pretty well? Driveability with the cam (honestly, is there any bucking at low RPM)? Did you tune for 91 or 93 octane? What were your dyno numbers at the wheel, love to see your dyno sheet? Do you have specs on the cam in your car? How much did it cost all in? Did you think about coating the headers to reduce heat? Any roll racing results you would like to share? How about a video of idle and a little revving? I know its a lot to ask for, but would sure help us sitting on the fence.

Just spoke to Rippie. He uses Lingenfelter for the heads and cam in his kit. Sounds like 600 crank no problem. Hope the piggy bank has good news... Going to be a N/A Z51 running the streets in Minnesota this Spring.
Now, would just like to hear from someone who has this package and what the real world results are like.

I have my 2013 427 with Doug now. AR headers, Calloway Honker CAI, comp cam, Katech timing chain, springs, retainers, ported throttle body and intake, 160 thermostat, labor with dyno before and after. Doug said I’d get between 610-630HP at the crank on 91 octane. $6,495.00
