Default Zip Corvette C7 lowering bolt install.

I got the set for $60. Zip is less than 3 miles from my work

http://www.zip-corvette.com/14-15-lowering-kit.html

I was not able to find any info on how this has been done (without a sawzall); So here we go.

For me the front lowered to an ok-for-now amount on the stock bolts so I started on the rear. I expect the front to be similar if not easier.

Raise the car; Pick a side, Remove the wheel.

Remove the shock completely. 15 upper and 21mm lower

Remove the 4 13mm bolts and 2 plates holding the leaf in place

Remove the toe rod from the spindle, 18mm and I forget the allen 5mm-ish.

Remove the sway bar link from both sides to help the arms lower, 18mm and 10mm.

Remove top Spindle nut, same 18mm and 5-ish allen head, will require a tap to pop free from upper A-arm

I ended up needing to remove the opposite shock (lower bolt only) to free up the leaf entirely.

Out comes the leaf with a little struggle.

Easy part is swapping the actual lowering bolts 10mm. I drew an arrow on the leaf in case it got turned around.

Going back in..

Final result with rear fully lowered.

This was only a couple hours work figuring out what to do along the way. I'll add tq specs that anyone may want to dig up, I went by feel.

thanks very much. I can really appreciate the facility growing up without, and the maxjax lift was simply made with the corvette enthusiast in mind. worth much more than the $1950 i paid.

excellent job !!!!

wrench sizes and great photos really make clear what you are doing.

should provide a good comfort level to anyone contemplating getting
their hands on wrenches for the first time in a while.

This looks like a great write up. But it appears the photos are no longer available. Any chance you could share the pics again? I tried to tackle the new lowering bolts last night...

Did mine today - no helpers just me. It is better to do if you have a helper. Took about 7 or so hours.

The rears are easy compared to the front.

The drivers side upper ball joint wouldn't budge. Had to remove the A-Arm. Getting an alignment anyway.

I'll post more details tomorrow. Super tired now.

Beer time.
