Catch can....or catch can?
I 've read so much on catch cans for 2015 C7 Z51 Vettes..so now I'm confused..ease of installation?, which model? / best bang for the buck
. I am not very mechanically handy and looking for some advice for much more experienced owners. Which model and manufacturer, also ONLY street pleasure driving...and a little occasional lead foot use. Please..any help?
UPR? ELITE? OR WHAT? THANKS

Factory warranty void with install?
One more question I havent seem to find the answer here on the Forum...does installation of the "catch can" system void any GM factory warranty?

gm probably reserves the right to void warranty for anything they want to when it comes to aftermarket add-ons.
my advice would be to have the blown up engine you are trying to get covered to be as stock as possible when filing the claim to avoid issues

get the elite engineering "best" if you can afford it. Only cause you have the Z51. If non z51 (like mine) the lowest one is fine. I got the elite e2 can and was easy to install.
As far as warranty, if gm denied a warranty claim for a catch can, they'd lose a law suit easily. A catch can does no harm. It may not work (catch oil) but denying a claim because you didn't let oil into your intake is not a viable excuse...

My experience has been that the C7 PCV oil injection from DI engines with a wet sump is over exaggerated --I installed the UPR C7 catch can--a 3 chamber design which I believe is far superior than any other--After 1000 miles of driving it had less than one once of oil in it and my intake was bone dry--The UPR can is pricey--$199 but it is such an easy install and looks factory--Plus the intake was perfect---Chances are any brand would work just as well on a wet sump---But I wasn't willing to gamble and chose the best out there

I went with the UPR with the Clean Air Separator on my Z51. I have catch cans on all my other vehicles. My 2 G8's yield around an ounce of oil every 2K. This is oil that would contaminate my intake manifold, but would be cleaned off my intake valves with the port injectors.
A DI engine should be built with a catch can attached, like my Ford EB 3.5 DI Twin Turbo. Ford has a catch can built into the rear valve cover that when it overflows, the oil goes back into the engine!!! WHY doesn't GM????
In a DI engine, the only way to clean carboned up oil residue on intake valve is to use some form of spray cleaner. Otherwise, the carbon build up will eventually restrict air flow to the cylinder and cause A/F issues and a rough running engine. A catch can solves this. This was the first mod I installed. Everyone should have a catch can, dry sump or not.

ford is shooting themselves in the foot IMO, the original purpose of PCV is to pull these nasties out of the oil.. they are doing catch and release! I guess they are getting the vapors but not anything to extend oil life/cleanliness. to each their own

I was leaning toward UPR, but finally bought MIGHTY MOUSE Solutions PCV can version. I'm installing it this week, before leaving on a 2000 mile trip.

I love the MightyMouse can, I used it exclusively on my boosted Camaro. UPR seems good too. I will be visiting UPR this month and will be giving a honest review of their setup as well. Either way you go, Mightymouse is great, Elite is an old standard ( it has been reliable) and UPR seems to know their stuff. UPR has a plug and play setup. There are others that may work, but after seeing how they hold up, I will be sticking with these top brands named.

Absolutely and the Mighty Mouse can is the one to get.

Detoxx03...........Tell us more about the MM catch can. I've gone to their web site (http://www.mightymousesolutions.com/#!mm-black/ca5m) but all the information looks generic i.e. nothing specific about LT1. And, of course, I did a forum search and found nothing.

Go to the MM website and look at the install instructions--there are instructions on how to hook up on a C7. I will be getting one of the MM PCV cans to put on my Z51 optioned C7 to use at HPDE.
